Collegeport Day May 31, 1980

Collegeport will observe its 72nd birthday Saturday when its annual homecoming celebration is held.
This annual event is sponsored by the Collegeport Woman’s Club with the cooperation of all the people of the community.
A covered dish dinner will be served at noon at the Mopac House. The meat will be furnished, but everyone is asked to bring a covered dish.
Collegeport was founded by the Burton D. Hurd Land Company on May 25, 1908, when a tract of land was deeded to W. A. Travis for the building of a college of Industrial Arts and Sciences.
