Grace Allen
Funeral services for Grace Allen, 74,
of Bay City were held Saturday, Feb. 9, 2002, at 2:30 pm
at Bethel Baptist Church in Bay City with the Rev. L. C.
Cunningham Jr. eulogist. Burial was at Eastview Cemetery
in Bay City. She was born in Iago, Wharton County, Texas
on Friday, February 11, 1927 to Columbus Sims and Mose
Allen and passed away Wednesday, Feb. 6, 2002, at her
residence in Bay City.
She was a faithful member of Bethel
Baptist Church. Her Christian aspiration throughout the
years included singing with the choir and serving with
Mission II. She was youth matron many years whose
inspiration to them was greatly appreciated. Her
devotion to God and the church once earned her the
nomination as “Woman of the Year” at Bethel Church. She
will be missed by those who shared her earthly living.
Survivors include a son, George
Calvin Allen (& Cathy) of Lubbock, Texas; sister, China
Mae Thompson of Bay City; grandchildren, Amanda Allen
and Gregory Allen; and a host of nieces, nephews,
cousins, other relatives and friends.
Arrangements are with Duncan-Roberts
Funeral Home in Bay City.
