George Jones

DELIA LIMESTONE—George Jones, 85, of Delia Limestone, died Friday, Sept. 10, 2004. He was born Dec. 18, 1918, in Delia Limestone, to the late Will and Mary Stewart Jones. He was a veteran of the U. S. Army and a Baptist.

Survivors: wife, Alice Mae Jones of Markham; sisters, Pearlie Bree and Cardell Jones, both of Waco, Dovie Strickland of Dallas, and Callas Jones of Arizona.

Visitation will be noon-8 pm today at Green’s Mortuary Chapel. The Family will receive 7-8 pm tonight at the funeral home. Services will be 11 am Saturday at Pilgrim Rest Baptist Church in Markham, the Rev. James Ashton Jr. officiating. Burial will be at Eastview Cemetery in Bay City.

Funeral services for William King, 82, of Bay City will be held at 1 pm Saturday at Tyree Chapel A. M. E. Church with the Rev. Roy Brown officiating.  Burial will be in Eastview Cemetery.

Visitation will be this afternoon at Green’s Mortuary and from noon to 1 pm Saturday at the church.  A wake will be held from 7-9 pm today at the funeral home.

Mr. King was born Jan. 2, 1904, in Victoria to Frank and Mattie King and died Oct. 30, 1986, at Matagorda General Hospital.  He was a member of the Methodist church.

Survivors include his wife, Frances King of Bay City; a niece, Lila Israel of Galveston; a nephew, Frank Keats of Galveston; and several nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers will include Stewards and Trustees of Tyree Chapel.

Arrangements are with Green’s Mortuary.

Funeral services for Rosie Pearl Kirkwood, 76, of Houston, will be held Saturday, June 22, 2002, at 2 pm, at Tyree Chapel A. M. E. Church. Bay city with Rev. Joseph T. Garnett, pastor, and the Rev. Winson Russon, eulogist.  Burial will follow at Eastview Cemetery, Bay City.  Visitation will be Friday until 9 pm in the Duncan-Roberts Funeral Home Chapel.

She was born in Matagorda, Texas, Tuesday, January 12, 1926, to Charles Willims and Amanda Ellis Williams, and passed away, Wednesday, June 12, 2002, at Bayou City Medical Center, Houston, Texas.

She was employed as LVN in healthcare and will be greatly missed.

Survivors include one son, Tony Robinson; 5 grandchildren, Nancy Robinson, Keith Cooper, Peter Cooper, Jr., Onatha Banks and Elizabeth Robinson.  She is also survived by 6 great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.  Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by one son, Peter Cooper and 9 siblings.  Active pallbearers will be Bill Sims, Jerry Williams, Keith Cooper, Peter Cooper, Jr. and Carl Edwards.

Arrangements are with Duncan-Roberts Funeral Home, Bay City, Texas
