Funeral services for Mildred Flowers Allen, 63, of Bay City will be held at 1 pm Tuesday, March 23, 1999 at Bethel Baptist Church in Bay City, Rev. L. C. Cunningham, Jr., pastor, and Rev. T. L. Richardson, eulogist.  Burial will follow at Eastview Cemetery. Visitation was Monday until 9 pm in the chapel of Duncan-Roberts Funeral Home, and Tuesday from noon until 1 pm at the church.

Mrs. Allen was born in Houston, Friday, Nov. 22, 1935 to Willie Flowers and Eldora Boutte Flowers.  She died Thursday, March 18 at UTMB Hospital in Galveston.

Mrs. Allen is survived by her husband, Preston Allen of Bay City; daughters, Gwendolyn, Reania, and Annette; step-sons Alphonso, Dwight, Ottis, and Eric; grandchildren, Tonya, Tracee’, Keisha, Toni, Karissa, Saquania, Kenadi, Jeremy, Terrance, and Dwight; great grandchildren, Tiara, Auyana, Travon, and Taylor; sisters and brother-in-law, Earline Flowers, Alice Houston, Mary Ann Wallace, and Rodell Worsham all of Houston, and Bertha Linscomb (and Eugene) of Hitchcock; brothers, Willie Osborne Flowers and Will Flowers, Jr. both of Houston; brothers-in-law J. W. Brown and Martha) and Barney Allen, Jr. (and Cecelia); sisters-in law, Alfreda Robinson (and A. T.) and Linda Allen; also a host of nieces and nephews; 56 great nieces and nephews; 24 great great nieces and nephews; a host of cousins, other relatives, and a family of many friends who knew her affectionately as “Red”. Besides her parents she was preceded in death by her sister, Carrie Flowers.

Active pallbearers will be her nephews, David Flowers, Bruce Mills, Wayne Price, Kenneth Price, Maurice Jackson, and Jerome Mills.

Honorary pallbearers will be Alphonso Allen, Dwight Allen, Ottis Allen, Raymond Tate, J. W. Brown, Herbert Stanford, and Stevie Moore.

Arrangements are with Duncan-Roberts Funeral Home.

June 2, 1936 - Oct. 24, 2010

Funeral services for Preston G. Allen 74, of Bay City, will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, October 30. 2010 at Bethel Missionary Baptist Church, Bay City, with the Rev. Leroy Cunningham, Jr., eulogist.

Burial will follow at Eastview Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 4 until 8 p.m. Friday, October 29, 2010 at the funeral home chapel.

He was born in Bay City, Texas June 2, 1936 to Barney Allen, Sr. and Alfreda Allen, and passed away October 24, 2010 in Houston, leaving a loving family and many friends.

BAY CITY—Josephine Drake, 72, of Bay City, died Saturday, Nov. 27, 2004. She was born March 21, 1932, in Bay City, to the late Robert Sr. and Carrie Tellison Andrews.

Survivors; Daughters, Marth Session and Lawand Times, both of Richmond, and Rosie Archulus of Houston; sons, Clarence Drake Jr., Anthony Drake, Gentra Drake Sr., and Richard Drake, all of Houston, and Eugene Drake of Bay City; sisters, Bernice Williams and Dorothy Eugene Drake, both of Bay City; brother, Samuel Andrews of LaMarque; and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be 3-9 pm today at Duncan-Roberts Funeral Home Chapel.

Services will be 11 am Saturday at New Hope Baptist Church, the Rev. T. L. Richardson officiating.

Burial will be at Eastview Cemetery.

Frank Harris

Frank Harris, 70, of Bay City passed away August 23, at the Matagorda General Hospital.  He was a member of the Enterprise Baptist Church and the Gulf Coast Lodge II 272 F&AM.  Survivors include: wife, Mrs. Alice Harris of Bay City; seven daughters, Hattie Robinson, Faye Davis of Oakland Calif., Diana Harris and Linda Harris of Bay City, Florence Armstrong and Mildred Harris of Houston, Mary Fluker of Louisiana; two stepsons, A. C. Flye and Steven Flye of Bay City; one stepdaughter, Ruby Hart of Baytown; four sons, James Robinson, Frank Harris, Herbert Harris of Bay City, Leroy Harris of Houston.  He had 37 grandchildren and 40 great-grandchildren.  The funeral services will be held at the Enterprise Baptist Church, August 27, at 2 pm Rev. A. H. Pointer will officiate.  The body will lie in state from 1-2 pm. Interment will be at the Eastview Cemetery, Bay City.  Pallbearers will be host of relatives and friends, and the Gulf Coast Lodge II 272 F&AM.

Mrs. Gertrude Lewis, 75, a resident of Bay City, passed away July 24 in Houston.  Survivors include: 2 daughters, Mrs. Elna Street of Altadena, California and Mrs. Helen Lewis Wilkins of Houston; 2 sons, Reginal L. McHenry of Houston and Carl Lewis of Bay City; 2 sisters, Mrs. L. E. Robinson of West Columbia and Thelma L. Jones of Houston; 1 brother, Charlie Williams of Rosharon; 12 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren.  Funeral services will be held Saturday, July 27, at 3 pm at the Enterprise Baptist Church with Rev. A. H. Pointer officiating.  Interment will be at Eastview Cemetery.

Mrs. Laverne Mills

Mills, Mrs. Laverne, passed away in her home, 1309 Avenue B, Bay City, Texas, November 17th.  Services will be held at Bethel Baptist Church, Tuesday 2:30 pm with the Reverend L. C. Cunningham, officiating.  Survivors include her husband Kelly Mills, two daughters: Lisa, and Mrs. Lillie Mae Simms of San Francisco, California.  Her mother, Mrs. Lydia Davis, Bay City; two aunts; Mrs. Emma Palmer, Bay City and Mrs. Lucinda Foster, Richmond, Texas.  Also, four uncles, Abraham Davis and Eugene Brown, Houston, TX, Malachi Brown and Lemon Davis, Bay City, Texas; one nephew, Johnnie Wyche, Chicago, Ill. and a host of other relatives and friends.  Interment will be in East View Cemetery, Bay City, Texas. 

Penn Funeral Home Directors will be in charge of arrangements.
