Bay City, Texas March 26, 1908

To Whomever it may concern – This is to certify that Miss Azalea Whitfield has successfully taught the Seventh Grade in Bay City Public Schools for the past two years and has given entire satisfaction in that work.

We have found her sincere in her purpose, devoted to her work, loyal to the superintendent and school board, patient and sympathetic with her pupils and in fact, an excellent Christian teacher.

Her affiliations here or at any other place where I may teach, will be strongly approved of. She is at perfect liberty to refer to me at my time and I shall consider the school board fortunate who may secure her services.

I should add however, that she has proven herself especially strong in discipline here.

Respectfully,
W. T. Pollard, Superintendent

To any School Board—

Gentlemen = Miss Azalea Whitfield belongs to the highest class of teachers. Her work ranks among the very best.

She is strong in disciplining, possessing that quiet position mild yet firm manner that wins and holds the pupils confidence. She is painstaking—and above all conscientious in her work. She held the position of Prin. of High School this term and we are confident none can be found to excel her in the department. She is a worthy addition to any faculty. We heartily commend her to you for a favorable consideration.

Respectfully submitted,

L. T. Frizzell, Supt.
