Obituary

Mr. Jimmie Kuykendall was born in Wharton County, Texas on June 15, 1903.

Her married Charlett Edwards at an early age and to this union two sons were born. A. D. and A. C. Kuykendall, who preceded him in death. Later he met and married Miss Thelma Franklin. To this union one daughter was born, Michelle Kuykendall.

In 1935, he moved to Markham, Texas and here he remained until he pased.

He united with the Pilgrim Rest Baptist Church.

He departed this life on March 17, 1980 in Matagorda General Hospital, Bay City, Texas. He leaves to mourn his passing, a loving wife, Mrs. Thelma Kuykendall, one daughter, Michelle Kuykendall, three step-daughters, three step-sons, one brother, three sisters, a host of grandchildren and a number of other relatives and friends.

Funeral services for Michelle Kuykendall, 23, of Markham will be held 2 p. m. Saturday at Evangelist Temple, 2922 LeTulle with the Rev. Byron Gaskin officiating. Burial will be at Markham Cemetery. The family will receive friends 6 to 9 p. m. today at Green’s Mortuary chapel.

Miss Kuykendall was born Sept. 10, 1968 in Matagorda County to Thelma and Jimmie Kuykendall and died June 16, 1992 at Methodist Hospital in Houston.

She was a member of Bible Days Revival Church.

Survivors include her mother, Thelma Kuykendall of Markham; two daughters, Kandice Lynne Kuykendall and Tiara La Sha Kuykendall of Markham; Linda Johnson of Ganado and Brenda Scarlett of Bay City and two brothers, Henry Allen of Austin and Ottis Allen of El Campo.

Pallbearers will be Timothy Hayes, Tequil Franklin, Harold Woods, L. D. Johnson, Darrell Scarlett, Douglas Johnson, Larry Johnson and Shannon Johnson.

Arrangements are with Green’s Mortuary.

Funeral services for Essie Temple Lenzy, 62, will be at 1 p.m. Thursday at the Evangelist Temple, Bay City. No visitation Wednesday. Arrangements are with Duncan Roberts Funeral Home (979) 245-5197.
