William Reddic

 

William “Speedy” Reddic

Funeral services for William ”Speedy” Reddic, 40, of Bay City, will be held 2 p. m. Friday at Pilgrim Rest Baptist Church in Markham with the Rev. Rudolph Martin officiating. Burial will follow at Markham Cemetery.

Mr. Reddic was born June 17, 1950, to L. E. Redic in Markham and died March 29, 1991, in his trailer home in Bay City.

He was a veteran of the Vietnam War.

He is survived by his wife of 19 years, Darlene Reddic; a son, William Jerome Reddic; a daughter, LaTasha Faye Reddic; his mother, L. E. Reddic of Markham; two brothers, Billy and Callis Reddic of Bay City; his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. James Lewis of Markham; 14 nieces, eight nephews and 20 great-nieces and great-nephews.

Pallbearers are Cedo Sardinea Jr., Abraham Young, Julius Thompson, Marvin Sanford, Robert Hill and Eddie Parr Jr.

Honorary pallbearers are Billy Reddic, David Reddic, Ronnie Elliott, Callis Reddic, Larry Sanford, Michael Elliott and Rick Hoeser.

Arrangements are with Duncan-Roberts Funeral Home, Bay City.

William Reddic

On June 17, 1950, a baby boy was born to L. E. Reddic and Hollie Speed, whom they named William. He was nicknamed “Speedy.”

“Speedy” united with Pilgrim Rest Baptist Church at an early age under the leadership of Rev. Williams. He attended schools at A. Jefferson and Tidehaven High School. He was a Vietnam Veteran and a member of the Markham Community for many years. He moved to Bay City and resided there until his death. He was preceded in death by two sisters and one brother.

He leaves to mourn his passing, his beloved mother, Mrs. L. E. Reddic of Markham, his wife of 19 years, Mrs. Darlene Reddic, two children, William Jerome and La’Tasha Faye Reddic; two brothers, Billy and Callis Reddic of Bay City, Texas; one uncle, William Blackmon of Markham; Father and Mother-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. James Lewis of Markham; 14 nieces, 8 nephews; 20 great nieces and nephews and a host of many relatives and friends.

Funeral services for Mary Lee Roberts, 91, of Houston, formerly of Markham, Texas, will be held at 11 a.m., Saturday, April 5, 2014, at Pilgrim Rest Baptist Church in Markham.

Burial will follow at Markham Cemetery.

Visitation and guest book register will be from 2 p.m. to 8 p.m., Friday, April 4, 2014 at Duncan-Roberts Funeral Home Chapel in Bay City, Texas.

She was born October 11, 1922, in Collegeport, Texas, to Hamp Morgan and Vella Harrison Morgan.

She passed away Saturday, March 29, 2014, in Houston, Texas.

She is survived by one sister, Eddie Steve Dunbar; and generations of nieces and nephews, including her niece whom she lived with, Delorian Morgan-Jones.

Myrtle Louise Sanford
April 13, 1931 - July 3, 2016

Myrtle Louise Sanford, 85, went home to be with the Lord, Sunday, July 3, 2016.

She was born April 13, 1931, in Sweet Home, Texas, to Clay and Odessa Brazil.

Myrtle attended school in Sweet Home. She will be remembered for her beautiful smile, strength, kind heart and faithfulness.

Myrtle is survived by her eight children, Willie Mae Sardinea (Cedo Jr.), Leon Sanford (Judy), Marvin Sanford, Ruby Boone (Levi), Carolyn Sanford, Annette Green (Aaron), Dwight Sanford, and LaTonya George; twenty-four grandchildren; a host of great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; three brothers, Bobby Flagg (Carolyn Sue), Billy Flagg, and Alfred Blackmon; and one brother in-law, Travis Amboree.

Myrtle’s earthly journey came to a peaceful rest on July 3, 2016, and she went home to be with the Lord.

Visitation will be held Friday, July 8, 2016, from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Green’s Mortuary in Bay City, Texas.

A Celebration of her life will be held at Pilgrim Rest Baptist Church in Markham, Texas, on Saturday, July 9, 2016, at 11 a.m.

Interment will be held at Markham Cemetery, Markham, Texas.

Myrtle is preceded in death by her parents, Clay Brazil and Odessa Flagg; sisters, Hannah Brooks, Lucille Amboree, Eva Barnes, Agnes Brown, Helen Woods and Patricia Murdoch; and brothers, Clay Brazil Jr., and Jessie Flagg.

Arrangements are with Green’s Mortuary, 2702 Avenue C, Bay City, Texas.

Cedo Sardinea Sr.

Funeral services for Cedo Sardinea, Sr., 87, formerly of Markham, will be held Sunday, December 23, 2001, at 2 p. m. at Pilgrim Rest Baptist Church in Markham, with Rev. James Ashton, Jr., eulogist. Burial will follow at Markham Cemetery in Markham.

Visitation will be Saturday until 9 p. m. in the funeral home chapel.

He was born Sunday, December 13, 1914 to John Sardinea and Martha McCall Sardinea in Allenhurst, Texas and passed away Wednesday, December 19, 2001 at St. Joseph Hospital in Houston.

He was a kind person, always willing to find his “place in the sun.”

Survivors include: two daughters, Ora Fields of Galveston, and Sharon Kuykendall of Houston; three sons, Andrew Sardinea of Houston, Cedo Sardinea Jr. and Nelson Sardinea, both of Houston; one sister, Delphina Brown of Houston, 29 grandchildren, 36 great-grandchildren, 5 great-great-grands; 5 sisters-in-law, Erma Lee Sardinea, Carrie Burnett, Amy Coulter, Evelyn Williams and Cloreath Williams; and three brothers-in-law, Eddie Williams, Nelson Williams and Edward Lathan as well as a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and a family of friends.

Active pallbearers will be Michael Fields, Kenneth Fields, Cedo Sardinea III, Tydarryl Sardinea, Barrette Sardinea and Darryl Boone.

Mary Ella Sardinea

Obituary

On Monday, April 1921, a baby girl was born to the late Pink and Hester Williams in Brazoria, Texas, whom they named Mary Ella.

The Williams family moved to Matagorda County, Texas some years ago and here she attended Public School.

She accepted Christ at an early age in life and attended church service regularly until her health became impaired.

She has been a resident of Markham, Texas for many years.

Mary was united in Holy Matrimony to Mr. Cedo Sardinea in August of 1937 (53 years).

She was preceded in death by her parents, two sons, Larry and Lonnie Sardinea, one sister, Mrs. Lillian Boone and one brother, Jesse Williams.

Mary leaves to mourn her, but always to love and let her many loving memories remain in their hearts by continuing to show love and kindness to others, her devoted and loving husband, Mr. Cedo Sardinia of the home, one daughter and son-in-law, Sharon and Roosevelt Edison of Bay City, one step-daughter, Ora and Archie Fields of Galveston, three sons, Andrew Sardinea of Houston, Cedo, Jr. and Nelson Sardinea of Markham, four sisters and three brothers-in-law, Lerella and Howard Greer, Rosie and Edward Lathan and Evelyn Williams all of Houston, Amy Colton of Van Vleck, three brothers and two sisters-in-law, Nelson and Annie Jean Williams, Eddie and Cloreath Williams of Houston, and Pink Williams, Jr. of La Marque, Mrs. Everlina Tousant and Mrs. Delphia Brown of Houston, 27 grandchildren, 24 great-grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

Graveside services for Master Ke'mon Sardinea and Miss Ke'myah Sardinea will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday, March 17, 2010 at Markham Cemetery with Pastor T. L. Richardson, officiating.

The twins were born on March 4, 2010.

Kemon passed away on March 7, 2010 and Kemyah passed away on March 12, 2010.

They were born to Linda Sardinea and Jimmy Johnson, Jr.

Obituary


On Thursday, March 4, 2010, a beautiful set of twins was born to Jimmy Johnson Jr. and Linda Sardinea whom they named Ke'mon and Ke'myah.

Their precious lives shortly came to an end when God called them home. First Ke'mon departed us on March 7, 2010 and following his footsteps came his sister Ke'myah on March 12, 2010. They are still being loved and missed.

Their memories will be cherished and carried on by their surviving brothers Brytonia Brinkley of Bay City, Texas, Jonathan Johnson of Hempstead, Texas and a sister Jasmine Johnson of Hempstead, Texas, grandparents, aunts, uncles, cousins and a host of other relatives and friends.

Larry Sardinea

Born to Mr. and Mrs. Cedo Sardinea in Markham, Texas on December 15, 1950, a son named, Larry.

He departed this life on March 6, 1971. He leaves to mourn his passing his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Cedo Sardinea. Two sisters, Mrs. Ora Lee Fields of Galveston and Miss Sharon Sardinea of Markham. Four brothers, Mr. Lonnie Sardinea and Mr. Nelson Sardinea of Houston, Cedo Sardinea, Jr. and Andrew Sardinea of Markham, seven aunts, seven uncles and a host of relatives and friends.

Funeral services were held Thursday, March 11, 1971, 2:00 p. m., at Pilgrim Rest Baptist Church in Markham, with Rev. H. T. Aldridge officiating.

Lonnie Sardinea

Born to Mr. and Mrs. Cedo Sardinea in Markham, Texas on January 13, 1940, a son named Lonnie. He became a member of Pilgrim Rest Baptist Church at an early age.

He attended school at Hilliard High School in Bay City, Texas.

He departed this life on May 8, 1971. He leaves to mourn his passing a wife, Mrs. Maggie Sardinea, three daughters, Lonnie Marie, Teri of Markham, Jenessa of Galveston, four sons, Lonnie Jr. and Tydarrell of Houston, Darryl Wayne and Fredrick of Galveston and Miss Sharon Sardinea of Markham, four brothers, Mr. Nelson Sardinea of Houston, Cedo Jr. and Andrew Sardinea of Markham, seven aunts, six uncles, two nieces, six nephews, one great-nephew and a host of relatives and friends.

Services were held Sunday, May 16, 1971, 2:30 P. M, at Pilgrim Rest Baptist Church, in Markham, Texas, with Rev. H. T. Aldridge officiating.
