Barbara A. Hadash

October 9, 1951 – November 25, 2007

Barbara A. Hadash, 56, of Bay City, Texas, died on November 25, 2007, at St. Luke’s Episcopal Hospital.

She was born October 9, 1951, to Woodrow and Faith Sifford in Beeville, Texas.

She attended First Baptist Church in Bay City.

She was a woman of amazing faith that will greatly be missed. We love you Mom!

Survivors include: sons, Victor and Michelle Hadash of Mansfield, Texas, Sam Hadash of Bay City, and Chris and Angela Hadash of Bay City; grandchildren, Haylee and Gracie Hadash of Bay City.

Memorial services will be held at 2 p. m. Wednesday, November 28, 2007, at First Baptist Church in Bay City, with Dr. M. Zimmerman officiating.

Barbara Diane Hambright

Barbara Diane Davis Hambright of San Marcos, Texas, passed away 22 January 2025 following a brief illness.

Barbara, known as "Boo" to her friends, was born to Morton Keefer Davis and Mary Elizabeth Hunnicutt Davis, of Bay City, Texas on 15 August 1947. She graduated from Bay City High School, Class of 1965. Barbara went on to earn a Bachelor of Science in Math from Southern Nazarene University, Class of 1970, and later earned a Master of Arts from The University of Texas of San Antonio in August 1980. Barbara was a certificated teacher in the State of Texas and taught Advanced Math at Bay City, San Antonio, Amarillo, Marshall, Texas, and Bosier Parrish, Louisiana. Barbara was loved and respected by all who knew her, particularly her students and their parents. A devoted Christian, she was always willing to help anyone in need. She will be missed.

Barbara was married to James Edwin Hambright. James passed in 2000.

She is survived by her brother and sister in law, Tom and Otti Davis, of Wimberley, Texas. She also leaves behind her Nephew, Stuart Davis, his wife, Sarah, and two Grandnieces, Olivia and Natalie, of Franklin, Michigan.

Barbara asked that there be no memorial service. Her cremains will be interred with her sister, Bonnie, in the family plot at Roselawn Cemetery in Van Vleck, Texas.

Quevella Scott Harris

Quevella Scott Harris, 98, of Sweeny, Texas, passed away on Sunday, August 25, 2024, in Sweeny.

She was formerly of Kendleton, Texas, and was sister to (now the late) Dorothy Wiley of Bay City, Texas.

Robin Ray Harvey

Robin Ray Harvey, 49, of Palacios passed away June 22, 2026. He was born July 10, 1976 in Palacios to the late Ramon Harvey and Alice Perez Harvey.

Survivors include his brothers Chris Harvey (Traci), Damon Harvey (Veronica) and Dean Harvey and numerous nieces and nephews and extended family members.

A memorial service will be held at 12:00 Noon Saturday, July 11, 2026 at the Palacios Church of Christ; 516 Rorem Ave.; Palacios, TX 77465.

Joe Hayes

Funeral services for Joe Hayes, of 111 St. Charles St., Houston, were held at 1 p. m. Friday at St. John Baptist Church, Bay City, the Rev. Ollie Reynolds officiating.

Burial was in St. John Cemetery, Bay City, under the direction of Penn Funeral Home of Bay City. A wake will be held from 7 p. m. to 9 p. m. Thursday at the funeral home.

Mr. Hayes died Saturday in La Marque.

He was born Feb. 6, 1909 in Van Vleck, Tex.

Survivors include a sister, Allie Gordon of La Marque; a son, Hardy Hayes of San Antonio; and three brothers, Emery Hayes of Houston, Allen Hayes of Corpus Christi and Willie Thompson of Angleton.

Kathleen Ann Hollas
March 11, 1955 – June 17, 2026

Kathleen Ann Hollas, 71 years of age, of San Antonio, passed away at Methodist Hospital in San Antonio on June 17, 2026. Kathy was born in Ganado, Texas, in 1955 to Victoria and Bohdan “Buck” Janak. She grew up in Edna and Blessing, Texas, and graduated from Tidehaven High School in 1973, where she was a member of the Tiger band. She went on to earn a Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing from the University of Texas at Austin in 1977. On August 4, 1979, she married Daniel Hollas at Saint Peter’s Catholic Church in Blessing, Texas.

A dedicated registered nurse, she began her career in 1978 and worked in hospitals in Wharton, Texas, and Oxford, Mississippi, before moving with her family to San Antonio in 1988. That same year, she began working at Main Methodist Hospital, where she faithfully served until her retirement in 2022.

Kathy’s favorite hobbies and activities included trips to the beach, sewing, gardening, baking, attending live musical performances, and spoiling her five grandchildren. She was an active member of Saint Francis of Assisi Catholic Church from 1988 until her passing. She cherished her prayer and bible study groups at Saint Francis. At Saint Francis she served on numerous ACTS retreat teams, as a mass coordinator and hospitality minister, and as an officer and member of the Ladies Auxiliary. Kathy will be remembered for her dedication to her faith, family, friends, and patients. She had the heart of a servant and always thought of others before herself.

Kathy was preceded in death by her parents and her older brother Lawrence. She is survived by her husband Dan and her daughters Jill Burns and spouse Jeremy, Becky Johnson and spouse Tom, and Emily Assi and spouse Sara. She is also survived by her sisters Jeanette Allums, Rosemary Jackson, Mary Jo Patschke and brother Ron Janak. Surviving grandchildren are Ethan, Estelle and Elliot Johnson; Jackson and Jason Burns.

There will be a Funeral Vigil with rosary service at Saint Francis of Assisi Catholic Church, San Antonio, Texas on July 2, at 7:00 pm. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at Saint Francis of Assisi Catholic Church on July 3, at 11:30 am. A graveside service will be held at Saint Peter’s Catholic Church Cemetery, Blessing, Texas on July 6, at 11:30 am.

In lieu of flowers, donations to Saint Francis of Assisi Catholic Church in San Antonio, Sisters of the Incarnate Word and Blessed Sacrament Convent in Victoria, Texas, or the START Center for Cancer Care in San Antonio are appreciated.
