Irene Francis Lamorie

April 26, 1954 – February 14, 2026

Irene Francis Lamorie, 71, of Palacios, Texas, passed away February 14, 2026. She was born April 26, 1954, in Westfield, Massachusetts.

Irene was the heart of her home and the steady foundation of her family. Regarded as the greatest chef, she kept her kitchen as a gathering spot, the center of love, humor, and home-cooked meals. She brought enthusiasm and light into ordinary moments with her love for dancing and singing. Creative and gifted with her hands, she could sew beautiful clothes from simple pieces of fabric, a reflection of how she created beauty in all she touched.

Her faith was important to her, and she trusted God through every season of her life. That quiet strength and belief carried her through both joys and hardships, shaping the compassionate and resilient woman so many loved.

Above all, Irene loved her family tremendously. Being a mother was her greatest joy and proudest accomplishment. Her children were her heart, and her grandchildren were her absolute delight. She poured her love into them endlessly, through comforting hugs, encouraging words, shared laughter, and unwavering support.

Her love did not end here; it lives on in the lives of her children and grandchildren.

Survivors include her husband, Gregory Torres; the father of her children, Richard Lamorie; daughters Melanie Tennant, Sharon Lamorie, and Lisa Lamorie-Menchaca (Eric); son Michael Lamorie; sister Sharon Kokosa; and grandchildren Madison, Meghan, Maddox, Xavier, Josiah, Melanie, Sydney, Eric, Bryce, Seth, and Rylen.

Visitation will begin at 1:00 PM on Monday, February 23, 2026, at Agape Family Outreach Church, 1811 Newsome Blvd., Palacios, TX 77465. Funeral services will follow at 2:00 PM with Pastor Eric Young officiating.

Ruben H. Longoria, Sr.

September 30, 1951 - August 7, 2025

Ruben Longoria, Sr., 73, of Katy, Texas, entered into the presence of his Lord and Savior on Thursday, August 7, 2025, surrounded by the love of his family and friends. Born on September 30, 1951, in Bay City, Texas, to the late Ricardo Longoria and Hortencia Hernandez Longoria.

Ruben lived a life defined by faith, integrity, and devotion. He was a man whose presence brought joy, comfort, and laughter to all who knew him. God truly blessed us with one of the best. Someone who loved deeply, gave selflessly, and lived with a servant’s heart. He was steadfast in his faith, guided by a high moral compass, and unwavering in his commitment to doing what was right. Though a man of few words, when he spoke, his words carried weight and wisdom.

For 53 years, he was a devoted husband to his sweetheart, Alvina, loving her with an unshakable commitment that served as an example to everyone around him. As a father, he was proud and supportive; as a grandfather, lovingly known as “Popo.” He was tender, present, and deeply cherished. His family was his life’s greatest joy, and his love for them knew no bounds.

Ruben had many passions that reflected his character, BBQ’ing for his family, watching his grandsons play ball, Fishing along the Gulf Coast, watching the Houston Texans, and caring for his prized 1957 Chevy Bel Air, named “Ruby.” He was a man of quiet reflection, often spending time in his office studying, writing heartfelt notes to his loved ones, and placing scriptures throughout his home as daily reminders of God’s promises.

His work ethic was second to none. For over four decades, Ruben served as a pipeliner and expert product controller for Union Carbide, now Dow Chemical Company. His dedication, reliability, and willingness to help others earned him deep respect among his colleagues.

As we honor his life, we remember not only the man he was, but the values he instilled faith, love, humility, and strength.

Ruben is preceded in death by his parents, Hortencia Hernandez Longoria, Ricardo Longoria; his brothers, Richard Longoria, Michael Longoria; nephew, Emilio Ray Longoria; and niece, Tara Figueroa Berg. He is survived by his loving wife, Alvina Longoria; his children, Ruben Longoria Jr. (Careen), Mark Anthony Longoria (Shannon), Veronica Lynette Rodriguez (Eugene), and Monica Elaine Longoria; his grandchildren, Mikaela Marie Longoria, Kyleigh Jai-Lynn Rodriguez, Alaina Avery Longoria, Noah Eugene Rodriguez, Callie Caitlyn Longoria, and Mark Anthony Longoria II; his sisters, Hortencia Zavala, Virginia Garcia, Rachel Ramirez; his brother, Abel Tamez; and many nieces, nephews, and extended family members who loved him dearly.

Visitation will be held from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. on Friday, August 15, 2025, at Taylor Bros. Funeral Home, 2313 Avenue I, Bay City, Texas. The funeral service will be at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, August 16, 2025, with Pastor Larry Helms officiating. Interment will follow at Roselawn Memorial Park in Van Vleck, Texas. Pallbearers will be his nephews, Rocky Garcia, Jesus Garcia, Richard Gonzales II, William Gonzales, Michael Longoria, Marcus Longoria, Eric Longoria, Arturo Longoria, and Eddie Guzman. Linda Marlene Lyle
December 7, 1952 - June 5, 2025

We celebrate the life and mourn the death of Linda Lyle. She passed peacefully surrounded by her husband David and daughters, Theresa and Anna.

In passing she leaves behind her husband David Lyle, married nearly 53 years, her daughters Theresa and son in law Kevin LeDoux, Anna Lyle (Howe), and grandsons Garrett and Brady LeDoux, Clayton Howe, great grandson Cypress LeDoux, granddaughter Jade Howe and honorary granddaughter Aubrey Garza.

We will remember her as a loving wife, mother, sister, aunt, best friend and honorary grandmother and hold those memories close to our hearts as we mourn her passing. She supported, loved, guided, and provided laughter to us all.

Linda has been a staple of her family and community. She leaves behind a life filled with servitude and love for her community. Her love and kindness were evident to everyone who met her. She helped facilitate fundraising for others in need, was a caregiver for relatives, donated generously with her time and love to those in need without questions. She shared her abundance of blessings in life with those around her.

It's difficult to summarize her life with a paragraph, so this is what we could think of. Linda was instrumental in starting the recycling center, after working to support the Lions Club noon chapter, and she joined the co-ed evening club where she served as Vice President and President. While serving as a member of the Lions Club, she was involved in a matter close to heart in transporting special needs children to and from the Lions Club Camp in Kerrville, TX.

She was preceded in death by her mother and father William and Betty Ham, sister Cheryl Ham, and brother Billy J. Ham.

To honor Linda, a remembrance will be held on Monday, June 9th, 2025 at Taylor Bros. Funeral Home (Bay City) with visitation at 1 pm and service at 2 pm. We ask that any donations be sent to The Lions Club Camp in memory of Linda.
