A memorial service for Kacie Qualls, 56, of Palacios, TX, were held Feb. 15, 2009 at Jensen Point, Palacios.

Ms. Qualls was born June 13, 1952 in Tarrant County to John and Sue Klapp. She passed away at her residence Feb. 3, 2009.

She is survived by her father, John Klapp of Watoga, TX; sons Larry Webb of Longview, TX, Jeff Webb of West Mountain, TX and Chris Qualls of Palacios; brother Johnny Klapp of Illinois; sisters Janice Pruett and Melissa Buchanan both of Fort Worth, TX and four grandchildren.

July 13, 1918 - Jan. 17, 2010

Elza Fairy Quick, 91, of Bay City passed away January 17, 2010.

She was born July 13, 1918 in Arkadelphia, Arkansas to the late Henry and Annie Mae Adams Williams.

Her husband Robert Raleigh Quick, Sr. and daughters Mary Cobb and Wanda Fae Panitz all preceded her in death. Survivors include daughters Barbara Ann Reeves of Monte Alto, Texas, Wyona Jean Sugarek of Bay City and Laura Nell Ryman of Wadsworth; sons Robert Quick, Jr. of Wadsworth and Jessie Burt Davis of Monte Alto, Texas; step-son Robert Gale Quick of Millington, Tennessee; sisters. Florine Lime of Weslaco, Texas and Imagene Holland of Oklahoma; 31 grandchildren and great grandchildren and 12 great great grandchildren.

The family will receive friends and relatives from 6 until 8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.

Funeral service will be at 2 p.m. Thursday, January 21, 2010 at Taylor Bros. Funeral Home with the Rev. Melvin Ryman officiating. Interment will follow at Cedarvale Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be: Billy Thurber, Eric Sanders, Jim Bob Van Dyke, Lonnie Panitz, Scottie Smith, and Bert Rountree.

ALLAN D. QUINN

PORT O'CONNOR - Allan D. Quinn, 77, of Port O'Connor passed away April 16, 2010. He was born Jan. 9, 1933 in Palacios. Allan served his country in the United States Army and worked in construction.

He is survived by his sons, Allan Dean Quinn Jr. of Port O'Connor and Tommy Nello Quinn of Spicewood; daughter, Brenda Aileen Quinn Murphy of Port Lavaca; eight grandchildren; and 17 great-grandchildren.

Allan was preceded in death by his wife, Lottie Quinn; his dad, Tommy Quinn; step-mother, Joann Quinn; and a sister, Betty Barnes.

A time of visitation will be held from noon to 1:30 p.m. on Tuesday, April 20, 2010 at the Richardson-Colonial Funeral Home. Graveside services will follow at 2:30 p.m. at Memory Gardens Cemetery in Victoria.

Memorial donations may be made to the Port O'Connor Volunteer Fire Department.

Ben G. Quinn, 34, of Markham, died November 11, 1975 at the Methodist Hospital in Houston. He was born July 23, 1946 in Henrietta. Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Billie Quinn of Markham, three daughters, Pamela, Veda K. and June Ann Quinn of Markham; one son Glen Quinn of Markham; his parents, Mr. and Mrs. S. F. Quinn of Edinburg; one sister, Mrs. Frankie Kelley of Markham; and one brother, Glen D. Quinn of McAllen. Funeral services will be held at the First Baptist Church in Markham November 14 at 10 a. m. The Rev. C. L. Carey, pastor of the First Baptist Church of Three Rivers will officiate. Burial will be at Hawley Cemetery. Pallbearers are Carl Jager, Bobby Dillard, John Lee, Buck Beard, Billy Jalufka, Don Lee and Red Jones. Quinn was an employee of the Central Power and Light Co. and had been a resident of Markham for seven years. Arrangements are with the Taylor Brothers Funeral Home.

Catherine “Martine” “Baird” Quinn, 84, went to be with her Lord Saturday, November 13, 2010, in Bay City, Texas.

She is survived by: her children, Guy “Tony” Baird, Jr. and wife Becki, Vicki Baird Smith, Larry Baird and wife Beth Davis, Bill Quinn and wife Donna; 10 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; brother, Ray Martine; sisters, Agnes Delue, Theresa Kennedy, Mary Kuhn; numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by: her husbands, Guy A. Baird and Horace Quinn; and  son, Douglas Baird.

Visitation will be from 6:30 until 9 p.m. Friday, Nov. 19, 2010, at Taylor Bros. Funeral Home with the recitation of the Holy Rosary at 7:30 p.m.

The Mass of Christian Burial will be Saturday at 9:30 a.m. at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church with Fr. Gerry Cernoch celebrant.

BAY CITY [Matagorda County, Texas]- Clyde Quinn Jr., 55, of Bay City, died Monday, Jan. 20, 2003.

 

He was born Jan. 7, 1948, in El Campo, to the late Clyde Sr. and Martha Quinn. He was a Baptist.

 

Survivors: wife, Martha Quinn of Blessing; daughters, Evelyn McCoy of Alaska and Donna Quinn of Utah; sons, Steven Quinn of Nevada and Clyde Quinn III of New Mexico; brothers, David Quinn and Garry Quinn, both of Blessing, Kenneth Quinn of Bay City and Rodger Quinn of Groesbeck; and eight grandchildren.

 

Visitation will be 4-9 p.m. tonight at First Baptist Church in Blessing.

BLESSING - Clyde S. Quinn Sr., 77, of Blessing, died Saturday, May 3, 2003.

 

He was born July 3, 1925, in Edna, to the late David and Mishey Quinn. He retired from Sun Oil and was a Baptist.

 

Survivors: wife, Evelyn Fay Quinn; sons, David Quinn and Gary Quinn, both of Blessing, Roger Quinn of Thorton and Kenneth Quinn of Sweeny; sisters, Evelyn Burkett of Cleveland, Texas, Lavan Guhn of Baton Rouge, La. and Sarrida Hughs of Sweeny; 13 grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.

 

Preceded in death by: son, Clyde Quinn Jr.; and parents.

 

Family will receive visitors 7-9 p.m. tonight at First Baptist Church.

 

Services will be 10 a.m. Tuesday at the church.

Fern Erma Dow Quinn

Funeral services for Fern Erma Dow Quinn, 95, of Bay City, are scheduled for 4 p. m. today at Taylor Brothers Funeral chapel with the Rev. Jim Pingleton officiating. Burial will follow in Roselawn Memorial Park in Van Vleck.

Mrs. Quinn was born Aug. 23, 1898, in Danbury, Neb., to Chester and Irma Mae Phillips Dow and died March 13, 1994, in Matagorda General Hospital in Bay City.

Before coming to Bay City in 1945, she lived and worked as a telegraph operator for Western Union in Houston and sang in the Houston Grand Opera Chorus. In Bay City, she was a member of First Christian Church and served as Deaconess Emeritus, a Sunday School teacher and choir member. She was also a member of the Order of Eastern Star 380 and served as Worthy Matron from 1959 to 1960.

Survivors include two daughters and a son-in-law, Sammie Wright of Richmond and Mary Lou and Jack Birkner of El Campo; a son and daughter-in-law, Rex and Margie Quinn of Bay City; a brother, T. A. "Bob" Dow of Houston and eight grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Sam A. Quinn on March 21, 1967, and a grandson, Wayne Rex Quinn Jr. on May 21, 1990.

Pallbearers are Dick Quinn, Quinn Wright, Tracy Menard, Jack Birkner Jr., Craig Wright and Bill Suffling.

Glen D. Quinn
(July 23, 1941 - April 24, 2009)

Glen D. Quinn was born on July 23, 1941 in Henrietta, Texas to parents Frank and Izora Smith Quinn and was called to Heaven on April 24, 2009. Glen was a prominent businessman in McAllen, Texas for over thirty years where he owned Quinn’s Exxon Station on 10th Street and Nolana. He was active in many civic organizations including the Texas Beef Syndicate. He was also an avid hunter and outdoorsman and spent many happy hours around a campfire at the Los Islas Ranch in Starr County. Upon retirement Glen moved to El Maton to be near family where he was able to spend countless hours fishing with Leonard and Dexter the Dog. He was preceded in death by his parents and his twin brother Ben. He is survived by his sister, Frankie Kelley, three daughters, Kathy, Carol, and Patty, his grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. A time of visitation will be held on Tuesday April 28 from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM at the Bay City Funeral Home. Graveside services will be held on Wednesday April 29 at Hawley Cemetery at 11:00 AM. Aug. 8, 1916 –June 19, 2011

Tressie M. Sutton Inscore Quinn, 94 of Amarillo died June 19, 2011.

Graveside service will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday June 23, 2011, in Cedervale Cemetery, Bay City, Texas.

Arrangements are by Schooler Funeral Home, 4100 S. Georgia St., Amarillo, Texas.

Tressie was born to Francis M. Sutton and Josie E. Sutton in McGregor, Texas, on August 8, 1916.

She grew up in Bay City, Texas, where she met and married her husband Aubrey “Toby” Incore. They moved to the Texas hill country where they lived for many years.

Later in life she married Harold J. Quinn.

Tressie is survived by three children, 12 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.

The family requests that memorials be made in Tressie’s name to St. Paul’s United Methodist Church 4317 W. I-40 Amarillo, Texas 79106; or to Peterson Hospice 1121 Broadway, Kerrville, Texas 78028; and Hospice of the Southwest, 1301 S. Coulter St. 404 Amarillo, Texas 79106.

The family would like to thank all her many caregivers both in Kerrville and in Amarillo. All are truly God’s angels on this earth.

Lila Susan Quinney

Teddy Thurston Quinney

Memorial services will be held for Mr. Teddy Thurston Quinney, 58, of Markham, on June 18 at 10:00 a.m. at the First Baptist Church in Markham.

Quinney died on June 16 at the Veterans Administration Hospital in Houston.

Quinney was a life-long resident of Markham who was affiliated with the Baptist church.

MARKHAM—Katherine Cecile Genzer Quinney, 76, of Markham, died Tuesday, Feb. 11, 2003.

She was born July 7, 1926, in El Maton, to the late George and Cecile Sluber Genzer.

She was a resident of Markham for 51 years, a member of the Baptist church and was very active in the Wednesday morning bowling league.

Survivors include her husband, Frank J. Quinney Jr. of Markham; a daughter, Elizabeth Farthing of Markham; a son, Grady Quinney of Markham; a brother, J. W. Morgan of Apple Valley, Calif.; six grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

Mark Anthony Quintana, 44, of Bay City passed away Feb. 23, 2009. He was born June 2, 1964 in Wharton, TX to Modesto Quintana, Jr. & Lupe Cruz Quintana. He formerly worked at Materials Coordinator for STP.
 

Survivors include his parents Modesto & Lupe Quintana of Bay City; sister Theresa Ann Quintana and brother Albert Quintana both of Bay City; nephew Quintan Kennedy of Bay City, Uncle Richard Quintana & family of Wharton and Aunt Teodora Ortiz of Wharton.

Felix V. Quintanilla, 85, of Bay City passed away December 12, 2008. He was born May 18, 1923 in McAllen, TX to the late Benita Tanguma Quintanilla & Fernando Quintanilla. He was a longtime resident of Bay City and worked as a concrete finisher foreman for Brown & Root.

He was preceded in death by his siblings Angelita, Maria, Elian Domingo & Jose and a grandson Alexander James Popham. Survivors include his wife Ramona Quintanilla of Bay City; daughters Hilda Cadena & husband Juan, Sr. of Sugar Land, Alicia Quintanilla of Katy, Angela Eason of Ft. Worth, Mary Oralia Berry & husband Brannock of San Antonio, Olga Quintanilla of Dallas, Maria Irma Popham & husband Jim of Bay City and Ophelia Castillo & husband Oscar of San Antonio; sons Robert Quintanilla of El Paso, Ruben Quintanilla & wife Cynthia of Katy and Rene Quintanilla & wife Kimberley of St. Mary’s, Georgia; twelve grandchildren and two great grandchildren.

Manuel Garcia Quintanilla

September 19, 1937 - April 16, 2024

Manuel Garcia Quintanilla, 86, of Palacios passed away April 16, 2024.  He was born September 19, 1937 in Palacios to the late Antonio Quintanilla and Lydia Garcia Quintanilla.

Our Dad was employed with the city of Palacios for 32 years holding the title of Public Works Director where he has overseen many various Public Works projects that have enhanced the city and benefited the citizens of Palacios. Upon retirement his hobbies included gardening, taking care of his yard and making his homemade hot sauce. He loved hanging out with his family and friends and having his afternoon diet coke at Henderson drive-in. He loved his tacos from Cheli’s where he met up with his buddies. He loved his Westerns and always planting flowers for our Mother. Our Daddio was a storyteller of interesting and entertaining stories. He loved reading his bible daily and was a devout Christian. We will miss our Daddio dearly, but we know he’s reunited with the love of his life and those before him.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife Lucia Quintanilla and daughter Irma Ortiz Lenz.

Survivors include daughters Alma Tapia (Jose), Maria Ottino (Carlos), Gracie Trevino (Steven) and Elizabeth Hooper (mike); sons David Pena (Ninfa), Joe Pena and Ruben Quintanilla,(son in law) Rick Cink and numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, great-great grandchildren and grand pups.

Visitation will begin at 1:00 PM Wednesday, April 24, 2024 at Living Word Church in Palacios.  Funeral services will be at 2:00 PM followed by interment at the Palacios Cemetery.  Pallbearers will be Carlos Offing Jr, Dylan Cink, Cody Lenz, Seth Quintanilla, Matthew Pena and D.J. Pena.  Honorary pallbearers are Juan Cerda, Larry Glenn, Omar Garcia, and Rick Cink.

Angiolina L. Quiroga
(March 27, 1943 - April 30, 2012)

Angiolina L. Quiroga, 69, of Van Vleck passed away April 30, 2012. She was born March 27, 1943 in Bay City to the late Felipe Lopez and Tomasa Zamora.

Survivors include husband Pablo Quiroga of Van Vleck; daughters and spouses Marcy and Danny Correa of Bay City & Tammy and Jesse Saldana of Van Vleck; sons and spouses Paul & Nelda Quiroga of Bay City, Willie & Debbie Quiroga of Van Vleck and Eddy & Linda Quiroga of Van Vleck; sisters Janie Robles of Van Vleck, Lupe DeLeon, Mary Aguilar & Felipa Aguilar all of Bay City; brother Ray Lopez of Pearland; 16 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren.

A prayer service will be 7:00 PM Wednesday at the funeral home. Funeral service will be 10:00 AM Thursday, May 3, 2012 at Rose of Sharon Pentecostal Church with Rev. Janie Robles officiating. Interment will follow at Roselawn Memorial Park in Van Vleck. Pallbearers will be: Phillip Robles, Jonathan Robles, Paul Quiroga, Willie Quiroga, Eddy Quiroga Jr., and Zachary Quiroga.
