Services will be held for Frank Krenek, Sr., 82. Of Markham on June 29 at 10am at the

Sixth Street Church of Christ.

Officiating will be the Rev. Sam Kitching of the Sixth Street Church of Christ.

Krenek died June 27 at his residence in Markham.

He is survived by his wife Mrs. Myrtle Krenek of Markham; his stepmother Mrs. Mary Krenek of Spring; his son Frank J. Krenek, Jr. of Houston; his daughters Mildred Lawless of Sweeny, Lucille Krenek of Markham, Joyce Ulrich of Houston, Jean Browne of Atlanta, Louise Jernigan of Lumberton and Betty Warn of Sweeny; his brother Wesley Krenek of Clute; his stepbrother Sanford Krenek of Spring; his half-sisters Freida Krenek of Spring and Dorthay Harris of Dallas; his thirty-one grandchildren and thirty-six great grandchildren.

Krenek was a resident of Markham for forty-five years. A farmer in the Markham area, he was a member of the Farm Bureau, a member and director of the American Soil Conservation Service and a member of Tidehaven Tax and Equalization Board for many years.

Following services burial will take place at Roselawn Memorial Park in Van Vleck.

Pallbearers will be Michael Ulrich, Johnny Krenek, Jimmy Lawless, Stanley Marshal, Dennis Warn and Frank Krenek III.

Services are under the direction of Dick R. Elkins of the Bay City Funeral Home.

Freda Mae Krenek

Funeral Services for Freda Mae Krenek, 55, of Spring, will be 10 am Tuesday at Earthman Resthaven Chapel,

Houston, with Steve Egan officiating.  Burial will be at 2 pm Tuesday in Roselawn Memorial Park in Van Vleck.

Miss Krenek was born July 25, 1929 in Blessing, and died Feb. 17, 1985 in Spring.

She was employed by Baker Tool Service for 33 years.

Survivors include a sister, Dorothy Jean Harrison of Dallas; two brothers, Sanford Krenek of Spring and Wesley Krenek of Clute; and several nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers include Jackie Krenek, Gene Krenek, John Krenek, Robert Krenek, Harold Krenek, and Charles Krenek.

Arrangement are with Earthman Resthaven Funeral Home, Houston.

Irna Ward Lane

Mrs. Irna Ward Lane, 82, of Bay City died in Dallas on March 9.  She belonged to the First Baptist Church of Bay City and was a longtime Bay City resident.  Survivors include: daughters, Betty L. Morris of Dallas and Mrs. Mary Lynn Arnold of McAllen; son, James B. Lane Jr. of Dallas; sister, Ida Harkleroad of Santa Barbara, California.  The funeral will be held at Taylor Brothers Funeral Home Chapel on Wednesday, March 12 at 12:00 pm.  The Rev. W. D. Baker and Mr. James Sowell will officiate and interment will follow at the Roselawn Memorial Park Cemetery. Pallbearers include: D. F. Wiginton, Dr. Wayne Slone, J. C. Slone, James Harris, Harlin D. Anderson, and Billy Freeman.  Honorary pallbearers are the Deacons of First Baptist Church.  Arrangements are with Taylor Brothers Funeral Home in Bay City.

Martin Lantau, Jr.

Funeral services for Martin Lantau, 77 of Victoria, were at 2 pm on Saturday, Jan. 23 at Taylor Bros. Funeral Home with Bro. Joe Wrape officiating. Interment followed at Roselawn Memorial Park Cemetery in Van Vleck.

Lantau was born June 25, 1921 in Savanna, Carroll Co., Ill. To Martin and Blanche Altenbern Lantau, Sr. He died January 21, 1999 at Citizen Memorial Hospital in Victoria.

He was a former long-time resident of Bay City, a veteran of WWII serving in the U.S. Army and was a former active member of the Bay City Country Club. In 1981, he retired as Project Manager for Celanese Chemical Co. with 33 years of service.

Survivors include his mother Blanche Lantau of Savanna, Ill.; daughter and son-n-law Christina and Ronald Krobot of Temple; son and daughter-in-law, Jason C. and Nora Lantau of Victoria; sister Molly MacFie of Cumberland, Maryland; brother Carl Lantau of Thompson, Ill.; seven grandchildren and one great grandchild.

He was preceded in death by his wife Anita E. Lantau on October 30, 1996; by his father Marin Lantau, Sr.; and one daughter Sallie Ann Buslier.

Pallbearers were Alan Crow, Bill Arlitt, Bill Krobot, Jerry Don Chamblee, Nolie Harrel, and Carl Anderson.

Anita Lantau

Anita Lantau, 73, of Bay City passed away Oct. 30, 1996 at Matagorda Genera Hospital in Bay City.

She was born Oct. 30, 1923 in Munich, Germany to Franz and Maria Fisch.  She had been a resident of Bay City for the past 20 years and a member of the Catholic Church.

She is survived by her husband, Martin Lantau, Jr. of Bay City, by one daughter, Christina Krobot of Harker Heights, Texas; by one son, Jason Carl Lantau of Victoria; by two sisters, Maria Staein of Terre Haute, Indiana and Lore Harris of Clay City, Indiana; by two brothers, Hans Fisch of Tomball, Texas, and by Franz Fisch of Germany; and by seven grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by a daughter, Sallie Ann Busler on April 22, 1996.  Funeral services will be held at 11 am, Saturday, Nov. 2, 1996 at Taylor Bros. Funeral Chapel with Bro. Joe Wrape officiating. Burial will follow at Roselawn Memorial Park in Van Vleck.  Arrangements are with Taylor Bros. Funeral Home in Bay City.

Jose Antonio Lara, 48, of Bay City died May 25, 2002 at Methodist Hospital in Houston. He was born December 20, 1953 to the late Jose Leon and Maria Hernandez Lara in de Valle, Santiago, GTO, Mexico.

Survivors include: wife, Maria Brcenas Lara of Bay City; daughters, Angelica Pallares, Lorena Flores, Maria Christina Lara and Veronica Lara; and sons, Jose and Edward Lara.

Rosary will be recited at 7 p.m. Wednesday, May 29, 2002 at Taylor Bros. and the funeral mass will be at 10 a.m. Thursday, May 30 at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church with Rev. Edward Boren officiating. Interment will follow at Roselawn Memorial Park Cemetery.

Leona E. Lawhorn

BAY CITY [Matagorda County, Texas] - Leona Eva Lawhorn, 75, of Bay City, died Tuesday, Jan. 4, 2005.

She was born June 26, 1929, in Topeka, Kan., to the late Harvey and Blanche Hampton Hayes. She was a member of Harvest Time Church.

Survivors: daughters, Cindy Baldridge, Margaret Ackerston, and Carol Medina; sons, Raynard Lawhorn, Richard Lawhorn, Charles Lawhorn, and Ivan Lawhorn; 19 grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.

Preceded in death by: husband, John Henry Lawhorn; and daughter, Arlene Reynolds.

Services will be 10 a.m. Friday at Taylor Bros. Funeral Home chapel, the Rev. Jim Hardaway officiating.

David Joseph Layton, 81, of Wadsworth, died at Matagorda General Hospital October 8.  He was a resident of Wadsworth for 30 years. 

Survivors are: wife, Eva May Layton of Wadsworth; daughters, Lillian Adams and Betty Lou Layton both of Bay City.  Mary Fojtik of Edna, Dorothy Foster of Wisconsin Dells, Wisc.; sons, D. L. Layton of Bay City, Willie Layton; brother Louie Layton of Rock Island, TX; 22 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at Taylor Bros. Chapel Friday, October 10 at 3 pm with Rev. Robbins Odom officiating.  Interment will follow at Roselawn Memorial Park.

Pallbearers are: Matt Ottis, Johnny Layton, Lawrence Polensky, Arnold Fanson, Croex Rogers and Hezz Mills.  Honorary pallbearers will be grandsons.

BAY CITY - Eva Mae Layton, 92, of Bay City, died Monday, Jan. 19, 2004.

She was born Feb. 12, 1911, in San Augustine, to the late Henry Martin and Donnie Belle King Mills.

Survivors: daughters, Lillian Lee Adams of Bay City and Dorothy Foster of Dells, Wis.; son, David L. Layton of Bay City; 24 grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren; and numerous great-great-grandchildren.

Preceded in death by: husband, David J. Layton; daughters, Mary Fojtik, Betty Lou Layton, and Helen Marie Layton; and son, Willie Layton.

Services will be 10 a.m. today at Bay City Baptist Church, the Rev. Lee Watson officiating.

Funeral services for Mike Phillip Ledwig, 77, will be at 10 a.m. Friday, February 18, 2000 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Wadsworth with Father Casimir Jarzombek officiating. Interment will follow at Roselawn Memorial Park Cemetery in Van Vleck. A rosary will be recited at 7 p.m. Thursday, Freb. 17, 2000 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Wadsworth.

Mike died Tuesday, Feb. 15, 2000. He was born on May 6, 1922 in Arneckville, DeWitt County, Texas to Frank and Julia Hahn Ledwig. He was a resident of Wadsworth since 1948 where he farmed until his retirement.

Survivors include: sons and daughter-in-law; Michael Leon and Mary Louise Ledwig of Wadsworth, Dewayne and Nancy Ledwig of Tillar, Ariz; daughter, Joyce and Cliff Leinberger of Houston; seven grandchildren: Michael James Ledwig of Wadsworth, Kenny and Krynn Ledwig of Bryan, Melanie Ledwig and Melinda Ledwig of College Station, Miles and Sonja Ledwig of Bay City, Jarrett and Tammy Rogers of Houston, and Tanya and Rick Fugua of Houston; four great-grandchildren, Kacey Lee Ledwig, Dayne Ledwig, Parker and Colten Rogers; sisters, Margaret Meador, Bernice Davis, and Elizabeth Ledwig; brothers, Alois Ledwig, Ignatz Joe Ledwig, Julius Ledwig, Henry Ledwig, Joe Ledwig, and Milton Ledwig.

He was preceded in death by his wife Polly Allen Ledwig; parents Frank and Julia Ledwig; brothers Leo Frank Ledwig and Stanley Ledwig.

Pallbearers will be nephews: Otha Meador Jr., Donny McCabe, Ignatz Joe Ledwig Jr., Scott Ledwig, Julius (Jay) Ledwig, and Donald Ray Ledwig.

Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society.

Frank Gary Lesikar, 31, of Deer Park, died October 24, 2004 at Bayshore Medical Center in Pasadena, Texas.

He was born August 21, 1973 in Pasadena, Texas to John Vance and Carolyn Sewell Lesikar.

Mr. Lesikar was a schedule administrator with Fox Sports Net, a life-long resident of the Deer Park area, and a member of the Baptist Church.

Survivors include: parents, Vance and Carolyn Lesikar of Deer Park, Texas; sister, Ginny Lesikar of Deer Park; and maternal grandfather, James Sewell of Van Vleck.

He was preceded in death by: his maternal grandmother, Oralee Sewell; and by his paternal grandparents, John W. and Corrine Lesikar.

Funeral service will be at 2 p.m. Friday, October 29, 2004 at Taylor Bros. Funeral Home, with the Rev. Aaron Young officiating.

Interment will follow at Roselawn Memorial Park Cemetery in Van Vleck, Texas.

Pallbearers will be Brad Tompkins, John McCall, Jason Sewell, Bill Lesikar, Wesley Sewell and Stephen Harvey.
