Funeral services for Leola Page Trahan, 65, of Houston will be held noon Saturday at Shiloh Baptist Church in Cedar Lane with the Rev. C. M. Cooper, pastor of Garden Grove Christian Church in Houston officiating. Burial will follow at Shiloh Cemetery in Cedar Lane.

Memorial services will be held 7 p. m. today at Garden Grove Christian Church in Houston.

Mrs. Trahan was born Dec. 23, 1926, to the Rev. R. H. and Mattie Henderson Page in Cedar Lane and died Jan. 20, 1992, at the Methodist Hospital in Houston.

While in Bay City, Mrs. Trahan lived with her aunt, Ella Page. She was a graduate of the A. G. Hilliard High School Class of 1945 and Franklin Beauty College of Houston.

Survivors include a daughter, Vernita Trahan of Houston; her mother, Mattie Page of Houston; her mother-in-law, Mrs. Trahan of Houston; and four aunts and a number of cousins.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Sidney Trahan and her father, the Rev. R. H. “Richard” Page.

Pallbearers will be Phillip Ward, Garland Johnson, Roosevelt Law Jr., Dave Ward III, Robert Earl Johnson Jr. and Calvin Ward.

Honorary pallbearers will be the members of Garden Grove Christian Church of Houston and the A. G. Hilliard High School Class of 1945.

Arrangements are with Carl Barnes Funeral Home, Houston.

Funeral services for Dave Ward III “Buddy”, 49, of Cedar Lane will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, November 13, 2010, at Shiloh Baptist Church, Cedar Lane, with the Rev. Carl Kemp, presiding, and the Rev. DeAndre Barnes, eulogist. Burial will follow at Shiloh Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 2 until 8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home chapel.

He was born in Bay City, Texas, November 16, 1960, to Dave Ward, Jr. and Ethel Thomas Ward, and passed away November 5, 2010, in Houston.

Survivors include: a daughter, Jasmine Ward of Houston; his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Dave (Ethel) Ward, Jr. of Cedar Lane; two brothers, Phillip Ward (and Rose), and Calvin Ward (and Patrice), all of Lake Jackson; and one sister, Edna Ward of Freeport. Also two reared sisters, Deborah Edison (and Anthony) of Live Oak, and Sherol Jones of Duncanville; and a god-daughter, Crystal Stone of Houston. Also a host of aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews, cousins, other relatives and a family of many friends including the Van Vleck High School Class of 1979.

Funeral Services for Deacon Dave Ward Jr., 90, of Cedar Lane, TX will be Saturday, July 11, 2020 at 11 a.m. at Shiloh Missionary Baptist Church in Cedar Lane, with the Rev. Carl Lee Kemp officiating and the Rev. L.C. Dews eulogizing.    Burial will follow at Shiloh Cemetery in Cedar Lane.

He passed away on Thursday, July 2, 2020 at UTMB Health Angleton Danbury Campus in Angleton, TX.

He was a Deacon at St. Paul Missionary Baptist Church. He enjoyed fishing, hunting and cooking.

He is survived by his sons, Phillip Ward (Rose) of Lake Jackson, TX and Calvin Ward (Patrice) of Angleton, TX; 11 grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren; five great great grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Visitation will be Friday, July 10, 2020 from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. from at Dixon Funeral Home in Angleton, TX.

A Viewing will also be at the church on Saturday, July 11, 2020 from 9:45 a.m. to 10:45 a.m. only.

Funeral services for Ethel Lois Ward, 83, of Cedar Lane, Texas will be held Saturday, March 3, 2018 at 11 a.m. at the Shiloh Baptist Church in Cedar Lane with the Rev. Michael Riddick, pastor and the Rev. K.W. Bree, eulogist.

Burial will follow at Shiloh Cemetery.

Visitation will be held Friday, March 2, 2018 from 2 p.m. until 8 p.m. at Duncan-Roberts Funeral Home Chapel in Bay City, Texas.

She was born in Galveston, Texas on November 17, 1934 to Ernest Thomas and the former Melvia Stanford, and passed away February 23, 2018 in Houston, Texas.

She was a member of the Bethlehem Christian Church in Cedar Lake, where she served in various capacities. Her professional career in education spanned many years, and was a retired educator with the Van Vleck I.S.D.

Survivors include her husband, Dave Ward Jr.; two sons, Phillip Ward Sr. (Rose) and Calvin Ward (Patrice); sister, Barbara Aikens; eight grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; a host of nieces and nephews; and a enormous host of other relatives and many friends.

Among those who preceded her in death include a son, Dave "Buddy" Ward Jr., in November 2010.

Frankie Lee Ward
February 28, 1933 - May 9, 1970

Frankie Lee, the daughter of Mrs. Allean Bryant , was born on February 28, 1933 in Matagorda County, Cedar Lane, Texas. At an early age she united with the Shiloh Baptist Church and was baptized by Rev. F. M. Viola.

She attended school at Hilliard High School Bay City, Texas.

On May 9, 1970 at 11:45 P. M. Sister Frankie Lee Ward passed from this earth to a better land. She leaves to mourn her passing, a devoted husband, Roosevelt Ward, one Son, a Mother, Step-father, three sisters, two brothers, three nieces, five nephews and a host of relatives and friends.

Service: Sunday, May 17, 1970, 1:00 P. M., Shiloh Baptist Church, Cedar Lane, Texas, Rev. F. J. Thompson, Pastor

Funeral service for Betty Louise Griggs Wiley, 60, of Lake Jackson, were held at 11 a.m. Saturday, February 26, 2005, at Brazoria First Assembly of God Church, with the Rev. James Williams officiating.

Burial was to follow at Shiloh Cemetery in Cedar Lane, Texas.

She died Saturday, February 19, 2005, at Memorial Hermann Hospital in Houston.

She was a member of True Honor Baptist Church, where she served on the usher board and food committee.

She was employed by the Lake Jackson Police Department.

She was preceded in death by: her parents, Ellis Griggs, Sr. and Gertrude Griggs; grandson, Amir Player; two sisters, Helen Griggs, and Frankie Ward; and brother, Earl Griggs.

Survivors include: son, Adam Wiley, Lake Jackson; three daughters, LaJuan Griggs (Greg), Arizona, Cheryl “Snoopy” Griggs, Angleton, and Tamisha “Mesa” Wiley, Lake Jackson; four brothers, Rev. Murry Griggs, Sr. (Ophelia), Cedar Lane, Elder Eugene Griggs, Sr. (Ruby), Sweeny, Ellis Griggs, Jr. (Catherine), Bailey’s Prairie, and Robert Griggs (Tweety), Houston; sister, Ruby Matthews (Sam), Bay City; eight grandchildren; one great-grandchild; goddaughter, LaTonya Bonner; and a host of other relatives and friends.

Active pallbearers will be the Lake Jackson Police Department.

Honorary pallbearers will be Adrion “Pooka” Griggs, Jermel “Jeda” Griggs, Jordan Mitchell, Rev. Murry Griggs, Sr., Elder Eugene Griggs, Sr., Ellis Griggs, Jr., Robert Griggs, Adam Wiley, Greg Mitchell, Adam “C.J.” Wiley II, Joshua Wiley and Elijah Wiley.

Visitation will be from 4 to 6 p.m. Friday, February 25, 2005, at True Honor Baptist Church in Clute.
