O'BRYAN, JOSEPH WILLIAM, SR.
 Joseph William O'Bryan, Sr. of Bay City passed away December 27, 2001 in
Houston. He was born July 17, 1928 in Deerfield, Mich. to Byron Joseph
and Sarah McDonald O'Bryan.
He was a resident of Matagorda County for more than forty years, a
retired Diesel Engine Mechanic, and was a U. S. Army Veteran of the
Korean Conflict.
He is survived by: his daughters, Sarah O'Bryan of Sargent, Patricia
O'Bryan of Louisville, Ky., Oma Stevens of Sargent, and Cathy Mangum of
Louisville, Ky.; by his sons, Byron O'Bryan of Meadow, Wash., Joseph
O'Bryan, Jr. of Markham, and Larry Mangum of Seattle, Wash.; and by
fifteen grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Ruby O'Bryan and by his parents,
Byron Joseph and Sarah McDonald O'Bryan.
Graveside funeral services were at 4 p.m. Friday, Dec. 28 at Roselawn
Memorial Park with Rev. Michael Zimmerman officiating.

GLEN OLIVER
Sept. 30, 1931 — Jan. 22, 2006
Glen Dale Oliver, 74, of Kingwood, Texas, died January 22, 2006, at the
Houston Hospice Care Center in Houston, Texas.
He was born September 30, 1931, in Bay City, Texas, to the late Sterling
Bervard and Freida Martha Kettler Oliver.
Mr. Oliver was a resident of Kingwood for the past four years and a
former longtime resident of Bay City.
He was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Bay City, and a
veteran of the Korean War, serving in the U.S. Army.
He retired from Phillips Petroleum Co. in 1991 with some 20 years of
service.
Survivors include: his wife of 54 years, Sharon Henry Oliver of
Kingwood, Texas; two daughters and sons-in-law, Pamela and Benjamin
Smith of Friendswood, Texas, and Cecille and Marty Stitt of Kingwood,
Texas; son, Dale Sterling Oliver of Beaumont; seven grandchildren,
Dustin and Derek Smith, Claire, Connor and Chandler Stitt, and Sterling
and William Oliver; three nieces, Gayle Oliver Wiggins and Linda Oliver
Green, both of Bay City, and Valerie Hurst Jernigan of Longview; three
nephews, Jimmy Oliver of Lake Jackson, Ab Hurst of Longview, and Clayton
Hurst of Kingwood, Texas.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother and
sister-in-law Curtis and Deenie Oliver.
Funeral services were at 2 p.m. Tuesday, January 24, 2006, at the First
United Methodist Church, with the Rev. Clayton Hurst and the Rev.
Pauline Harvey officiating.
Interment followed at Cedarvale Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Gary Green, Al Blaylock, Donald Pollard, Tom
Burchfield, Jim Loos and Bill Hurst.

ORSAK, LEONARD G.
Leonard G. Orsak, 68, of Goliad, Texas, passed away December 28, 2004 at
DeTar Hospital in Victoria, Texas.
He was born August 2, 1936, in El Maton, Texas to the late George W.,
Sr. and Louise Gurecky Orsak.
Leonard was a member of St. Peter’s Catholic Church of Blessing, and a
member of the Knights of Columbus Council No. 4307.
He was a long-time resident of Matagorda County, a veteran of the Korean
War, serving in the US Army, a member of Blessing American Legion Cecil
Lee Post No. 649, a Life Member of Philip H. Parker VFW Post No. 2438,
and a member of the KJT.
Survivors include: brother, Tommy Orsak of Bay City; four sisters,
Theresa Hluza of West Columbia, Marilyn Hollas, Barbara Manna, and Jane
LaCroix, all of Bay City; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Rosary will be at 7 p.m. Wednesday, December 29, 2004, at St. Peter’s
Catholic Church in Blessing, and the funeral mass will be at 10 a.m.
Thursday, with the Rev. Sam Appiasi officiating.
Interment will follow at St. Peter’s Catholic Cemetery with military
honors provided by P.H. Parker VFW Post No. 2438
Pallbearers will be Carey Orsak, Thomas Orsak, Edward Gurecky, Walter
Skutca, Leo Orsak, Matthew Hluza and Brian Hluza.
Memorials may be made to St. Peter’s Catholic Church, Blessing, Texas.
Arrangements are with Taylor Bros. Funeral Home in Bay City.
