ZEPEDA, ELIAS R.

Elias R. Zepeda, 80, of Bay City died at his residence April 16, 2003. He was born May 22, 1922 in Bay City, Texas to the late Guadalupe and Lina Rodriguez Zepeda. Mr. Zepeda was a life long resident of Bay City and a member of the El Buen Pastor Presbyterian Church. Mr. Zepeda was a veteran of WWII serving in the US Army, and was a Prisoner of War. He was awarded the Bronze Star Medal, EAME Medal with 4 bronze stars, the POW Medal, the Distinguished Unit Badge, and the Combat Infantry Badge. He was a Life Member of P.H. Parker VFW Post #2438, Bay City and was a member of the Post Honor Guard.

Survivors include: wife, Minnie Medina Zepeda of Bay City; five daughters and son-in-law, Mary Ann Perez of Waco, Bonnie Sue Cano of Plattenville, Louisiana, Patricia and Ronnie Ham of Smithville, Helen E. Medina and Elaine Medina both of Bay City; sons, Abel and Adam Barlow both of Bay City; sisters, Rebecca Estrada and husband Nativadad, Sara Franco, Martha Guzman all of Bay City, Ruth Z. Orozco of Corpus Christi, and Esther Lopez of Texas City; brothers, Robert R. and Isaac R. and wife Delores Zepeda all of Bay City, James Zepeda and wife Ellen, Paul Zepeda and wife Virginia all of Houston; 15 grandchildren, Christy Huggins and husband James, Steve Ann Perez, Alexandra N. Owen, Thomas Cody Perez, John J., Jacob G. and Jason S. Cano, Jillian K. Cagle and husband Stephen, Robert R. Reyna and wife Tiffany, Patricia (Patty) Ham, Yvette Coronado, Christy, Brian, Keith, and Kimberly Barlow, three great grandchildren, Makylee and Skylar Reyna and Dillon Charles Cagle.

He was preceded in death by his brother Daniel Zepeda.

Funeral service was at 10 a.m. Saturday, April 19, 2003, at Taylor Bros. Funeral Home with the Rev. Alex Lopez officiating.

Interment followed at Roselawn Memorial Park Cemetery in Van Vleck with full military honors. Pallbearers were John and Jacob Cano, Robert Reyna, Michael Orozco, Guadalupe (Lupe), Paul, Mark, and Steven Zepeda. Honorary pallbearers were David, Robert, Paul, James, and Isaac Zepeda, Eulojio and Martin Lopez, and Adam Barlow.

ZEPEDA, ROBERT R.

Robert R. Zepeda, Sr., 88, died October 17, 2004 at his son’s residence.

He was born July 7, 1916 in Bay City, Texas, to the late Guadalupe B. and Lena Rodriguez Zepeda.

Mr. Zepeda was a lifelong resident of Bay City, was a member of The Good Shepherd Church and a Life Member of Philip H. Parker VFW Post 2438.

He served with the U.S. Army Combat Engineers during WW II.

Survivors include: two sons and daughters-in-law, Guadalupe and Cynthia Zepeda and Robert and Amanda Zepeda, Jr., all of Bay City; sisters, Rebecca Estrada, Martha Guzman and Sarah Franco, all of Bay City, Ruth Orosco of Corpus Christi, Texas, and Esther Lopez of Texas City, Texas; brothers, Paul Zepeda of Houston, and Isaac Zepeda of Bay City; four grandchildren; and one great-grandson.

He was preceded in death by: his son, Isaias Zepeda; sisters, Matilda Zepeda and Esther Zepeda; and brothers, James, Elias and Daniel Zepeda.

A prayer service was held at 8 p.m. Monday, October 18, 2004, at Taylor Bros. Funeral Home, and the funeral service was 10 a.m. Tuesday at Taylor Bros. Funeral Home, with the Rev. Alex Lopez officiating.

Interment followed at Cedarvale Cemetery.

Pallbearers were Paul C. Zepeda, Chon Camacho, Jr., Patrick Perez, Jr., Paul Perez, Joe Rodriguez and Emilio Luera III.

Honorary pallbearers were Isaac Maurice Perez, Paul R. Camacho, Chon R. Camacho and Cruz Camacho, Jr.

Arrangements were with Taylor Bros. Funeral Home.
