Elliott A. Harman. She was a member of Falling Branch
United Methodist Church, member of the Floyd Courthouse Chapter, D.A.R. and
an early member of the Floyd Home Demonstration Club. Surviving are two daughters and their
husbands, Elnora and Robert Markle of Alexandria, Evelyn and Chester Janney
of Floyd; two sons and their wives, Austin and Gaye Harman of Floyd, Harry
and Hazel Harman of Boones Mill; six grandchildren and nine
great-grandchildren; five brothers, Harman Dillon of Greensboro, N.C.,
Pershing Dillon of Hartwood, Clyde Dillon of Martinsville, Jabe Dillon of
Floyd and Alton Dillon of New Castle; a sister, Treva Harman of Floyd; also

August 8, 1993. She was a member of Melrose Baptist Church and was the widow
of Estel T. DeHart. She is survived by four nephews, Gene D. Whitlow,
Roanoke, Austin Harman, Floyd, Harry T. Harman, Roanoke, William Weddle,
Salem; three nieces, Elnora Markle, Franconia, Evelyn Janney, Frances Lee,
both of Floyd; a number of grandnieces and nephews. Funeral services will be
conducted from Oakey's North Chapel, 9:30 a.m. Wednesday, August 11, with the
Rev. Larry E. Sprouse officiating. Burial will be in Jacksonville Cemetery,
Floyd, at 11:30 a.m. Wednesday. In lieu of flowers, Mrs. DeHart and family
have expressed a desire that memorials be made to a favorite charity or to
Melrose Baptist Church. Friends may call at Oakey's North Chapel, where the

Obit: Henry Abner Harman, former vice-president
of the Three States Natural Gas Company, died at his home, 6206 DeLoache,
Monday morning after a 3 year illness. A native of Floyd, Va, he came to
Dallas in 1938. He was a founder of the Plains Production Company, serving as
vice-president when it was purchased by Three States. Harman retired in 1954.
A Shriner & a Mason, his
memberships also included the Dallas Athletic Club; the Dallas Petroleum
Club, and the Preston Hollow Methodist Church. Surviving are his wife, a daughter Miss
Nancy Harman of Dallas; and two sisters, Mrs. Flora Harman & Mrs Margaret
Ratcliff, both of Floyd. Funeral services will be held to 2:30
p.m. Tuesday in Sparksman’s Funeral Chaper, 2115 Ross, with the Rev. Thomas
E. Hardy officiating. Burial will be in Hillcrest Memorial Park. Pallbearers will be James F. Miller,
Clark G. Clinton, Frank W. Mehrten; Heath M. Robinson, Webb Roberts and
Joseph Gordon. 1959

Harman Weeks, 98, of Floyd, Va., passed away Wednesday morning, April 22,
2009. She was born and raised in Floyd County. Pauline, also known as
"Polly," enjoyed being in close contact with her family all her
life. She was a devoted mother, grandmother, sister and aunt and everyone who
knew her loved her for her strong spirit and tireless generosity. She was
preceded in death by her son, Philip Weeks; brothers, Richard Harmon and
Marvin Harmon; sisters, Senora Keith and Lucille Lee and husband, Culver
Weeks. She is survived by her grandson, Mark Weeks and his wife, Laura, and
daughter, Lindsey, of Fairfax; granddaughter, Tracy Brown and her husband,
Tim, of Culpeper; brothers and sistersin-law, Fred and Stanley Bea Harmon, of
Roanoke, and James and Hilda Harmon, of Floyd; and nieces and nephews, Jolee
Crawford, Caprice Spangler, Angie Nichols, James Harmon, Senorah Popp, Stacy
Barton, Chetley Harmon, Alan Harman, Patti St.John, Jeanette Wade, Joan
Janney, Mary Francis Huff, Mildred Ann Weddle, Joseph Caldwell and Sandra
Davis. She leaves behind many friends, including her best friend, Danah

Senora Harmon Caldwell, 87, of Christiansburg (formerly of Floyd), passed
away at the Carilion New River Valley Medical Center on Sunday evening, April
9, 2000. The
daughter of the late Edgar and Mary Harmon, Mrs. Keith was preceded in death
by her husbands, Thornton William Caldwell in 1965 and Lonnie Jackson Keith
in 1988, also an infant daughter. Her
love of children and family was paramount in her life. She has served as an
inspiration to her family and friends throughout her life. She taught second
grade in the Indian Valley Elementary School for many years before becoming
Director of the Floyd Head Start Program. She
will be missed more than words can say by her family. She is survived by
daughters and husbands, Mary and Albert Huff, Christiansburg, Mildred Weddle,
Roanoke, and Sandra and Pat Cupp, Blacksburg; sons and wives, Joseph and
