SILAS HARMON THOMAS
FLOYD-Silas Harmon Thomas, 89, passed away Saturday, July 31, 2004 at New River Valley Medical Center.
He was a member of Red Oak Grove Church of Brethren, where he served as a deacon and trustee. Mr. Thomas was preceded in death by his parents, Tyler and Emberzetta Harmon Thomas, and two brothers, Sol and Simon Thomas.
Surviving are: his wife of 64 years, Juanita Thomas, Floyd; two sons and daughters-in-law, Wayne and Judy Thomas, Copper Hill, Glenn and LetaThomas, Charlottesville, four grandchildren and spouse, Robin Nichols, Kevin and Christy Vest, Copper Hill, Stephen Thomas, Charlottesville, Ella Thomas, Richmond, four-great-grandchildren, Keshia Nichols, Kacie, Dylan, and Nicholas Vest; sister-in-law, Vera Thomas, Floyd. Several nieces and nephews also survive.
Funeral service was conducted Wednesday, August 4, at 11:00 a.m. at Gardner Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Jimmy Cannaday and Reverend Hebron Quesenberry officiating. Interment followed in Jacksonville Cemetery.
Gardner Funeral Home, Floyd, handled arrangements.
