From US11/US 460 the cemetery drive 2.75 miles south on Boners Run (SR 609) Then south on Boners Run for 2.31 miles to Boone Road (still SR 609) Turn left for 0.6 miles and the cemetery on the left, up a steep narrow poor condition dirt road, there is a place to turn around to get back out. (4 wd suggested) The cemetery has limited care, it is not fenced. Markers are in good condition.

On Route 11 in Shawsville, going towards Roanoke, turn right on Boner's Run Road (road # 609) for about 3 miles. This road then veers to the left and the name changes to Boone Road. Travel about .6 mile until you see a steep path up the hill on the left. The cemetery is at the top of the hill. For clarification, I have added the words in parentheses, all others appear on tombstones.

BOONE, James Charles, "Chuck", 39 of Pulaski, died Tuesday, November 12, 1996 at his home. A loving and caring husband and father. He is survived by his wife, Betty Jo Boone, Pulaski; one daughter, Jennifer Louise Ferris, Pulaski; one son, James Michael Boone, Pulaski; his mother, Shirley Boone, Elliston; four brothers and sisters-in-law, Daniel Boone, Ray Boone, Sam and Wanda Boone, all of Elliston, Robert and Sherry Boone, Christiansburg; one sister and brother-in-law, Judy and Jimmy Collins, Elliston. He was preceded in death by his father Quentin Boone. He was a member of the North Star Masonic Lodge #168 in Wichita, Kansas and was the member of the Congregational Holiness Church, Shawsville. Funeral will be held on Friday, November 15, 1996 at 2 p.m. at the Congregational Holiness Church. Rev. Johnny Smith and Rev. Ricky Collins and Larry Collins will officiate. Interment will follow in the Boone Family Cemetery, Shawsville. The family will receive friends at the church on Thursday, from 6 to 9 p.m. Arrangements are being handled by Grant E. Bryant Funeral Home, Elliston.

BOONE, Quentin Alva, 67, of Elliston, formerly of Shawsville, entered into eternal rest on Saturday, March 2, 1996. Born August 8, 1928, he was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers. He is survived by his wife, Shirley Collins Boone, Elliston; five sons and three daughters-in-law, Daniel Boone, Elliston, Bob and Sherry Boone, Plum Creek, Chuck and Betty Boone of Maize, Kansas, Sam and Wanda Boone, Shawsville, Ray Boone, Elliston; one daughter and son-in-law, Judy and Jimmy Collins, Elliston; 12 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Patricia Lovern, Shawsville and Nellie Argabright, Check; two very special former daughters-in-law, Joyce (Joy) Boone, Roanoke and Joan Saunders, Salem. Funeral services will be held 1:30 p.m. Tuesday, March 5, 1996 at Seneca Baptist Church with the Rev. Virgil McHone and Willie Yates officiating. Burial will be in the Boone Family Cemetery on Boone Rd., Shawsville. The family will receive friends from 6 to 9 p.m. Monday at Grant Bryant Funeral Home, Elliston.

Gary Dewayne Lucas, 56, of Shawsville, died Saturday, April 29, 2017 at Radford Nursing and Rehab Center. 
He was born in Pembroke, VA on June 21, 1960. 
He is survived by his wife, Patricia Caldwell Lucas; his parents, Luther and Reba William Lucas; his step daughter, Kristi Sword; step sons, Jeff Johnson and Larry Caldwell; special grandson, Vernon Isaiah (Ziggy) Johnson; grandchildren, Gavin Sword and Aidan Casstevens; special friends, Daniel Boone, Robert (Bob) Boone, Clara and Virgil McHone.
The family wishes to thank Carilion New River Valley Hospice, especially nurses, Nicole and Cindy, and Dr. Madhoun. 
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, May 3, 2017 at 2:00 pm in the McCoy Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Chuck Thomas officiating.  Burial will follow in Boone Family Cemetery, Boners Run, Shawsville.
