FRANK BLAZEK STROKE VICTIM
Blazek Park Owner, Former Chairman, Passes in Hospital
LENA, Wis. - Frank Blazek, 69, well known resident of Oconto Falls, Rt.
1, died at the Oconto Falls Hospital late Wednesday night. He had
suffered a stroke last Saturday.
Mr. Blazek has served as the chairman of the Town of Spruce for many
years, served as a director of the Cadlec school and was a former member
of the Oconto County Highway Commission.
He was the founder and owner of Blazek Park where the annual Bohemian
Day celebration is held.
Br. Blazek was born in the Town of Spruce on Oct. 10, 1886 and was
married to the former Lillian Schuh of Chicago on July 18, 1922. He had
lived in the Town of Spruce all his life.
Survivors Are Listed
Besides his wife, he is survived by three daughters, Lillian, at home;
Mrs. Eben (Frances) Dufek, Lena; and Mrs. James (Shirley) Lane, Oconto
Falls; four brothers, Joseph, Suring; John, Coleman, Rt. 1; Ed,
Escanaba, Mich.; and George, Lena, Rt. 1; two sisters, Mrs. Elmer Kasner
and Mrs. William Kobes, both of Lena; and seven grandchildren.
The body may be viewed at the Steffen Funeral Home in Lena after 7
o'clock this evening.
The Odd Fellows Lodge of Oconto, of which he was a member, will conduct
the last rites at the funeral home at 2 p.m. Saturday. Burial will be
in the Evergreen Cemetery at Oconto.
