GILLETT - Martha U. Schroeder, age 93, Wild Rose, formerly of Gillett, died Tuesday, August 31, 1999 at Wild Rose. She was born March 10, 1906 in Gillett to the late Herbert and Ulga (Nelson) Udell. On February 17, 1923 Martha married Earl "F. Schroeder. The couple were married for 57 years. He preceded her in death January 16,1980. Since her retirement she resided in Oconto Falls until 1993 when she moved to Wild Rose. She was a member of Bethel Lutheran Church, Town of Green Valley.
Survivors include her son and three daughters-in-Iaw, Bobbie and Marie, Baltimore, MD; Valerie Schroeder, Oconto Falls; Caroline Schroeder, Wild Rose; 16 grandchildren, 42 great-grandchildren, and 14 great-great grandchildren.
Martha was also preceded in death by four sons and one daughter-in-law, Lewellyn "Sonny" and Loraine, formerly of Berlin, WI; Beauford "Bill," formerly of Oconto Falls; Lloyd "Skip," Wild Rose; and infant, Lowell; two infant grandchildren; one great-granddaughter; one great-great grandson; four brothers and three sisters-in-law, Everett and Bertha Udell, formerly of Mountain; Chuck and Agnes Udell, Roy and Irene Udell, all formerly of Beloit; Oliver Udell, formerly of Madison.
Funeral services were held Saturday, September 4, 1999 at Bethel Lutheran Church, town of Green Valley, with the Rev. Larry Lange officiating. Interment in the church cemetery. Pallbearers were Lowell, Terry , Dale and Scott Schroeder, Kevin Sternitske and Steve Shumway.
