This school was identified by the great granddaughter of the man it was named after, Frank Buhrandt. It was built on land he donated from his farm. Mr. Buhrandt was born in Germany in May 1855 and came to the US in 1883. The following year he was able to send for his wife Alma and their first child, Otto. On the town of How farm, 5 more children were born to them. They attended Buhrandt School.
