Harrell Law Offices of McCollum & Harrell Live Oak, Florida Live Oak, April 9th, 1911 Mrs. Sarah F. McCook Live Oak--R. F. D. No. 1. Dear Mrs. McCook: Please write me by return mail and answer the following questions for Judge Connor’s information: When did you marry Mr. McCook? Where did you marry? What was you full name before marriage? You can answer these question right on this letter and return to me in the inclosed & stamped envelope. These facts are needed for Judge Connor to make proper order upon your petition for dower. Yours respectfully, [signature] O. O. McCollum I married Mr. McCook the 13th day of Nov. 1884. I married him in Dakata, GA. Sarah Francie Harrell. that was my full name be fore marriage. Yours respectfully, [signature] S. F. McCook **notes** The answers were handwritten at the bottom of the letter by Sarah Frances Harrell. W. A. (William Alexander) McCook and Sarah Frances Harrell are my paternal great grandparents. I believe that Dakata is most likely Decatur, GA. She spelled it the way it sounded to her. Sarah Frances Harrell’s parents, John G. Harrell and Adeline Matilda Harper were married in Decatur Co., GA. I have yet to find an actual marriage certificate for W. A. McCook and Sarah Frances Harrell. This letter may be the only documentation for the marriage that still exists.
