WOODLAND
built by David Lee about 1858-1860

Woodland, owned by Nicholas Summers and Sandra Spangler, is beautifully situated in Charlotte County near the Lunenburg County line. (TopoZone 36°58'28",-78°29'00") The house was built by David Lee about 1858 - 1860, on land where his grandfather John Lee Senior settled in 1773. It is not known at this time just where the original home site was, relative to this structure. Woodland has had several owners. For ninety-four years the house was owned and occupied by Michael Anderson family members, who named their home The Oaks. Many natives of the area remember it as "the Anderson place."

See the John Lee Senior article for history of the land and the Lee family.
