Alvin Thomas Dalton

Alvin Thomas Dalton, 71, of 214 Ramsey Road, Hurt, died Tuesday, Sept. 8, 2009, at his residence. He was the husband of Mary Weeks Dalton of the residence.  He was born Nov. 8, 1937, in Roxboro, N.C., a son of the late Oscar Thomas and Virginia Mayhew Dalton. Mr. Dalton was a retired supervisor with Klopman Mills and was a member of New Prospect Baptist Church.

He is survived by a son, Gary Thomas Dalton, and his wife, Donna; a daughter, Deborah Dalton Elliott, and her husband, Wes, both of Gretna; three grandchildren, Rachel and Melissa Dalton and Heather Elliott Andrews and her husband, Reid; one brother, Bennie W. Dalton, and his wife, Danna; and one sister, Gail Dalton Lincoln, and her husband, Ken.  A graveside service was conducted at New Prospect Baptist Church Cemetery.
