Lou Ella Dalton Barker

Lou Ella Dalton Barker, age 86, of Gretna died Thursday, October 1, 2009, at Riverside Health and Rehabilitation Center in Danville. Born April 20, 1923, in Pittsylvania County, she was a daughter of the late Caleb Thompson Dalton & and Lou Vinnie Roach Dalton. She was predeceased by her husband, Leo Barker, a brother, Percy Clarence Dalton, and a sister, Lessie Dove.

She is survived by three sons, Leward (Sambo) Barker and his wife, Sevina of Danville, Randolph (John) Barker and his wife, Jo Ann of Chatham, and Dennis Barker and his wife, Nancy of Gretna; a daughter, Loise Ann Gibson and her husband, Ross of Pelham, N.C.; a sister, Margaret Neal of Chatham; eight grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; and three great-great grandchildren. Burial was in Gretna Burial Park.
