EXCERTS FROM MINUTES OF
BROAD RUN BAPTIST CHURCH
FAUQUIER COUNTY, VIRGINIA

Many people who were members of this church moved to Halifax-Pittsylvania County.  Below are some exerts from these minutes.  They were published in the THE GENEALOGICAL RECORD published Quarterly by The Houston Genealogical Forum, Houston, Texas. Volumn VII, Number 3, September 1965. The original notes were in the form of two notebooks owned by Mrs. Klitch Nee Helen Jeffries of Warrenton, Virginia.  They were handed down by her father, Charles Edward Jeffries, and his father, Joseph Arthur Jeffries.  It is unknown how Mr. Jeffries obtained the copies of the notes or if the original notes are somewhere to be found.  Included in the notes is the Baptismal Records of Nancy Hanks, the mother of Abraham Lincoln. A Xerox copy of the file in on record at the Houston Public Library. I have added only the information below that is relevant to Halifax-Pittsylvania County. ( Birch Creek is in Pittsylvania County)

In the lists of Baptisms, dismissals,  excommunication etc are obviously added to the original minutes at a later time by the Clerk.
