I John Jones of Russell County and State of Virginia, do make my last will and testament as follows: I give to my two son George and James the sum of one dollar each. I give to my two grand children John Henry Hess and Nancy Jane Hess infant children of my daughter Lydia Hess deceased jointly the sum of one dollar to be paid them out of my estate when they arrive at the age of 21 years.

All the rest of my estate after payment of my debts and funeral expenses I give and bequeath to my son Green Jones and his heirs forever.

Lastly: I appoint my said son Green executor of this my last will and testament. In witness whereof I hereto set my hand and seal this 29th day of March 1852.

At a court of quarterly session held for Russell County at the courthouse on Tuesday the 8th day of June 1852.
This instrument of writing was exhibited in court as and for the last will and testament of John Jones deceased, and proven by the oaths of James A. Gilbert & James P. Carrell the subscribing witnesses thereto and ordered to be recorded.
