EVENT

Odd Fellows Hall, over in Newport, was the scene of a jolly and enthusiastic gathering last night, the occasion being a reception tendered to Mr. J K Dimmick, the retiring Superintendent of the Addyston Pipe and Steel Works by the employees.

The exercises opened with singing by the Newport Colored Quartette, followed by the Addyston Colored Quartette. The band then struck up a lively air, which was followed by a speech by Press Ellis, one of the colored employees of the foundry, who lauded Mr. Dimmick to the skies.
