Benjamin and Nancy York


Benjamin F York was born July 1844 in Campbell County, the son of Joshua York and Sarah Moore. At the time of the Civil War he enlisted in the Co H 15th Kentucky Volunteer Infantry. The 15th Kentucky Infantry was organized at New Haven, Kentucky, and mustered in for a three-year enlistment on December 14, 1861, under the command of Colonel Curran Pope. The 15th Kentucky Infantry mustered out of service at Louisville, Kentucky, on January 14, 1865. York participated in the following battles; Battle of Perryville, Battle of Stones River, Tullahoma Campaign, Battle of Chickamauga, Battle of Missionary Ridge, Atlanta Campaign, Battle of Resaca. Battle of Kennesaw Mountain, Battle of Peachtree Creek, Siege of Atlanta, and the Battle of Jonesboro.

Benjamin F York died 19 Mar 1910 in Covington and was buried in the Linden Grove Cemetery. Dulcena York was born 6 Dec 1842 in Alexandria Ky. the daughter of John and Permelia Perry. She died 29 May 1912 in Newport and was buried in the Linden Grove Cemetery.
