NEWPORT
The Board of Education last night elected Prof. C H Duncan of
Ghent, Ky. Principal of the public schools. Prof. Duncan is nearing the
half-century post in life's journey and has held responsible educational
positions at Nashville Tenn. and Ghent Ky. He is at present in Newport.
Miss Payne, who was removed as Principal by the board, was elected a teacher in the intermediate grades in place of Miss Motteram, who resigned to get married.
Louis Wilson was awarded the contract for a new four room schoolhouse to be erected at Tenth and Patterson streets. The plans and specifications call for a $4500 building.
