Funeral services for Ada Monroe, 89, of Live Oak, Texas, Matagorda County will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, December 22, 2012 at Vine Grove Christian Church with the Rev. K.W. Bree officiating and the Rev. Larry Fletcher giving the spoken Word of God.

Burial will be in Live Oak Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 4 until 8 p.m. Friday, December 21, 2012 in the chapel of Green’s Mortuary.

LIVE OAK - Funeral services for Billie Polk, 83, of Live Oak Community will be Friday, October 26, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. at Vine Grove Christian Church with Pastor L. S. Fletcher, officiating.

Burial will follow immediately after services at Live Oak Cemetery.

Viewing will be Thursday, October 25, 2012 from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. in the chapel of Green's Mortuary.

Cherrie Lee Edison Polk

Funeral service for Cherrie Lee Edison Polk, 72, of Live Oak Community will be at 11 a.m. Monday, October 14, 2002 at Vine Grove Christian Church with the Rev. L. S. Fletcher officiating.

Burial will follow at Live Oak Cemetery in Live Oak Community. She will lie in state at Vine Grove Monday morning from 10 until 11 a.m. Visitation will be from 1 until 8 p.m. at Green’s Mortuary.

Family will receive friends from 7 to 8 p.m.

Cheerie Lee was born to the union of Sharper and Jessie Mae Dennis Edison in the Live Oak Community. She peacefully passed away Thursday, October 10, 2002 at the Methodist Hospital in Houston, TX.

She leaves to mourn and cherish special memories of 53 years, a husband, Billie Polk; five sons, Robert and Brenda Polk of Brazoria, Lester and Karen Polk, Vernon Polk of Live Oak, Herbert and LaFunja Polk of Bay City, and Warren Polk of Houston, three daughters, Sandra Polk of Houston, Teresa and Robert Green of Sugarland, Rita and Enoch of Kingwood; 14 grandchildren, Jennifer Polk, Jojuanna Diggs, VaShawn Franklin, LaToya Polk, LaKeisha Polk, Brandon Polk, Bryson Polk, Tiffany Polk, Amber Polk, Melea Polk, Dialia Polk and Bailey Gatson; and two great-grandchildren, Kyla Diggs and JaToya Cubit; two sisters, Ola Edwards and Ada and Kermit Monroe of Live Oak.

Also to cherish her memories she leaves a host of aunts, uncles, brother and sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and many friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, and brothers, Lige and Herbert Lee Edison.

Active pallbearers are Kenneth and Anthony Edison, Kevin Waddy, Raymond Butler, Cleveland Stredic, Larry Mack, Ricky Austin and Kelvin Prince. Honorary pallbearers are sons, grandson, nephews, Elders/Deacons of Vine Grove Christian Church, Kermit Monroe and Henderson Polk, Sr.

BAY CITY - Catherine Robbins, 64, of Bay City, passed away on Tuesday, July 17, 2012.

Funeral services for Pinkie Mae Robbins, 90, of Live Oak, will be held Saturday, October 4, at Vine Grove Christian Church, Live Oak, with the Rev. Larry Fletcher, eulogist. Burial will follow at Live Oak Cemetery.

Visitation will be Friday from 2 until 8 p.m. at the chapel.

She was born in Live Oak, Texas, August 9, 1918, to Sessia Wyche, Sr. and Nona Dale Wyche, and passed away September 29, 2008, in Bay City.

Survivors include: two daughters, Catherine Robbins and Pinkie Bernice Robbins; one granddaughter, Kristin; and a brother, Arnie Wyche, Sr. all of Live Oak. Also a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Hal Robbins, formal principal of O.H. Herman High School in Van Vleck.
