I Richard B. Bristow of the County of Dinwiddie and State of
Virginia, Make this to be my last will and Testament as follows,
that is to say~ First, I give to my son Samuel Bristow, my Wagon, Saw Mill and all my plantation or Farming implements, my Carpenter's tools, two cows, the Bed and bedding which he now uses my gun sideboard, trunk clock and square tables~ Second, I give to my Wife, in fee my interest in the real estate of my father, Charles W. Bristow decd. and I give to her during her life my press(?), folding Table, Chairs Casthers [sic] and Chinaware, two Beds and bedding and all the Household and kitchen Furniture not given to my Son, Samuel in the first clause of this Will, and at her death it is my will that my Said Son Samuel Shall have the property herein given to my wife Except the two Beds and bedding, one of which I give to my Son, Charles W. Bristow and the other to my Son in law Thomas H. Hairston(?) the interest in my fathers Land being given to her absolutely She can dispose of it as She may desire~ Third I hereby nominate and appoint my Son Samuel Bristow, to be the executor of this my Last Will and Testament and respectfully ask that the Court will require no security of him unless it be demanded by some person interested in my Estate Hereby revoking all former wills made by me I have hereunto set my hand and seal this 10th day of February 1871~ |

by the Testator Richard B. Bristow as and for his last will and
Testament in the presence of each other here hereunto subscribed
our names as Witness. Ch. J. Cabaniss} The last will and testament of Richard B. Bristow decd. was
presented in court, proven by the oaths of Ch. J. Cabaniss & Wm.
T. Thrift the Subscribing witnesses thereto and ordered to be
recorded. And on the motion of Samuel Bristow, the executor
therein named he has leave to qualify as Such thereupon entered
into and acknowledged a bond in the penalty of $200.00(without
Security none being requested under the will) conditioned
according to Law directs a probat of Said will is granted him in
due form of Law
