Benjamin Barnes Family Bible

The bible of Benjamin Barnes was published by C. Alexander & Co. Philadelphia in 1834. In it he kept faithful records of his family events. The Bible is currently owned by Sarah Fitzgerald, Valley Lee, MD. 20692. A few additions were made by unknown relatives after his death, the records were transcribed with Benjamin's spelling.

Benjamin Barnes died in Lisbon, Howard County at the home of his son, David T. Barnes, Tuesday night April 2nd, 1889 in the 79th year of his age. His funeral took place at the Lisbon M.E. Church where he was a member, Thursday, April 4th. Rev. E. Burhman, Pasor and Rev. Dr. J.L. Kilgore made addresses. He was taken to McKendree M.E. Church Cemetry and there intered. J.E.B.
