Will of William O'Keefe 1855

William O'Keefe of Baltimore County, Dated 23 Oct 1855, Proved 4 Dec 1855

In the name of God, Amen, I William O'Keefe being sick and weak in body but of sound mind memory and understanding knowing the certainity of death and the uncertainity of the time thereof and being desirous to see the my world affairs that I may be the better prepared to leave this world when it shall please God to call me hence do make publish and declare this to be mmy last Will and Testament in manner and form following viz.

First and principally I commmit my soul to God who gave it and my body to the earth to be buried and after all my just debts and funeral charges are paid I give and bequeath as follows.

Item. I give and bequeath unto my beloved wife Rosanna O'Keefe the one third of my Estate after all my just debts are paid to be hers during her life and after her decease to my two Children Thomas and Mary Ellen whom I commit to her care or such other person as the Orphan's Court may appoint.

Item. I give and bequeath unto my father and maother A Home in my house and a support out of my estate during their natural life.

Item. I give and bequeath unto my son Thomas and Mary Ellen all the rest and residue of my estate both real personal and mixed to them share and share alike to them heir heirs and assigns foreever.

Lastly, I do hereby consistitute appoint my firend Charles Hale sole executor of this my last Will and Testament revoking and anulling all former wills by me made and declaring this and none other to be mmy last Will and testament.

In Testimony whereof I have here unto subscribed my name and affixed my seal this 23rd day of October eighteen hundred and fifty five.

William O'Keefe the above named Testator as and for his last Will and Testament at his requestt in his presence and in the presence of each other have subscribed our names as witnesses thereunto:
