John Wall

John Wall, Chief Clerk of the House, is now serving his third consecutive session in this position.  He was born in Caledonia county, New York State, November 4, 1857.  Part of his youth was passed in Michigan, from which state he came to Nebraska in March, 1878.  For some years he resided in Sherman county, and there, from 1882 to 1886, was county clerk.  His home at present is in Arcadia, Valley county, where he is engaged in the mercantile business.  Twice he ran for Representative in Valley county, each time defeated by Fusionists, once coming within thirty-six votes of election.  He is the owner of a ranch in the county, and gives much of his attention to farming and stock raising.  His politics are Republican.  He was married March 30, 1879, to Miss Belle Landers, and has two daughters.
