Milford, G. W.
G. W. Milford, a pioneer businessman of this city, died yesterday after an illness of several weeks. Mr. Milford came to Ord in the early 80s and started in the general merchandise business and had been more or less actively engaged in this business since that time. He was taken ill several weeks ago with lagrippe, which affected his heart and was the indirect cause of his death. He was over 70 years of age and leaves a widow and one son, the latter, James Milford, being in the active management of the mercantile business.

Mitchell, William
William Mitchell, one of Valley county's most successful farmers, and a director of the First National bank of Ord, died here yesterday afternoon. Last Tuesday morning he was handling a revolver which was accidentally discharged, the shot taking effect below the right ear. A doctor was at once summoned and efforts made to extract the ball which was unsuccessful. Hopes were at first entertained of his recovery but he gradually sank until he died. He but lately retired from farming and located in town on account of the illness of his wife. He was highly respected. He leaves a widow and two sons.

Mount, Percy
Percy Mount, assistant cashier of the First National bank of Ord, died from the influence of chloroform while in a dentist's chair. He was a very popular man.

Newbecker, Minerva M.
Dr. Minerva M. Newbecker, one of the well known women physicians of the state, for twenty-five years a practitioner of Ord, died at Berkeley, Calif., July 24th. Interment was made at the Ord cemetery, August 1st.

Ollis, J. A.
J. A. Ollis, for the past five years an appraiser for the Federal Land Bank, and a former member of the house and senate of the Nebraska legislature, died in an Omaha hospital on April 3, following an attack of influenza and consequent heart failure. Mr. Ollis was a prominent farmer and rancher of Valley County for a number of years, and his interest in politics was shown by the fact that he held a number of county offices, and represented his district in the legislature five times - three times in the senate and twice in the house. He was also active in state agricultural affairs, having served on the state board of fair managers for a number of years, and at one time was president of the state fair association. Mr. Ollis was sixty-seven years of age.
