Cook Family
Thomas Cook was born in 1770 in England. He married Permelia "Milly" Marcum who was born in North Carolina.

Their son, Joseph Cook, was born in Orange, North Carolina in 1804 and died in Bedford, Tennessee in 1840. His wife was Mary M. Woods born in 1825 in Tennessee.  Their son was William Harvey Waterson Cook.

William Harvey Waterson Cook was born in Bedford County, Tennessee on November 19, 1841, the first born of Joseph Cook and Mary Woods.  His siblings were James Leonidas Pope Cook, (born October 12, 1842); Sarah Cook (born ca1845); Mary Cook (born ca 1848).  Florence Lenore Tucker was born September 15, 1848 in Graves County, Kentucky, the daughter of A.J. "Jackson" Tucker and Amelia Wortham. He died February 2, 1925 Locust, Grayson Co., Texas.

William H. Cook has served during the American Civil War in Tennessee with Nathan Bedford Forrest. He entered the Confederate Army in Brownsville, Tennessee.  When he returned home after the war, he found his county had been the site of many battles and the land was now in poor shape.  Soon, his family joined others and headed for Texas.

William had married Florence Lenore Tucker on October 12, 1865.  Born September 15, 1848 Felicianna, Graves Co., Tennessee and died March 22, 1915 Locust, Grayson Co., Texas. Daughter of Andrew Jackson Tucker & Amelia Wortham.

Two daughters were born in Haywood County, Tennessee: Mary "Molly" Amelia Cook and Nancy Margan "Nanny" Cook

Brothers,  William Harvey Waterson Cook and James L. Cook, had settled in Bosque Co, Texas. James had left Texas and settled near Tuttle, Oklahoma about 1909. William left Bosque Co. about 1911 and headed north in six wagons. They crossed the Red River by ferry and once in Oklahoma, they didn't like was they saw. They spent one night in Oklahoma then turned around and came back to Grayson Co. Texas. He settled near Pottsboro.

William Harvey Cook was a farmer and, it is said, at one time owned a cotton gin.  The family lived in several communities in Bosque County, Texas.  Walnut Springs was the last place they lived here.

Eight more children were born to this union in Texas:

William H. "Bud" Cook Jr. ,Dadie Cook , James Jackson Cook , Cora Belle Cook , twins, Joe Ray Cook and Jesse Lee Cook ,twins, George Luther Cook and Arthur Jefferson Cook
