married Sarah
Jane Hash 30 May
1878 in Bloomington,
Indiana.

Henderson Myers:
W.H.
Myers
was a big man
with dark hair
and huge blue
eyes, according
to Beulah Myers
Burleson.
In
1897 he had the
measles and
worked in the
rain until he
took pneumonia
and died at the
age of 41 years,
4 months and 15
days. It is said
that he thought
he just had to
get his work
done no matter
what. He is
buried in
Bloomington,
Monroe Co.,
Indiana.
After
he
died, his wife and
children moved to
Missouri where her
sister was living.
Sarah
Jane Myers
moved to
Grayson County,
northwest of
Pottsboro at the
turn of the
century and lived
there until her
death in 1944.
Sarah Jane Hash
Myers was a small
framed woman,
about 5' 6", with
long, straight,
black hair, which
she wore in a bun,
and she had blue
eyes. She smoked a
corn cob pipe or a
clay pipe. She
would always send
or bring James H.
Hash a can of
tobacco and a pipe
for Christmas, but
he never used it.
She was a member
of the Locust
Church of Christ,
which then moved
their building in
her lifetime to
the Willow Springs
area a few miles
away on land
donated by the
Driggers family,
and across the
road from the
Clountz place.
Sarah Jane "Aunt
Jane" died from
pneumonia on a
Friday monring at
7:00 am at her
daughter's house -
Minnie Myers
Clountz. She was
83 years, 11
months, 7 days.,
She was buried
Saturday afternoon
at 3:00 pm.
Leland Alton,
minister of the
Church of Christ,
officiated.
Interment was
under the
direction of
Short-Murray
Funeral Home. View

Dempsey Moon, Roy
Moon, Walter Moon,
Spencer Steadman,
Roy Smith and Hugh
Ballough.
Joseph J. Henry
and Tom Hash were
her brothers; they
had moved to Texas
from Missouri
before 1900.
Sarah and William
H. Myers came to
Texas in
1884. They
came to Sherman
for only a year
and then moved to
Ellis County
Texas. After
William H. Myers
died in 1897 from
pneumonia. brought
on by
complications from
having the measles
and working too
hard when sick,
Sarah Jane moved
northwest of
Pottsboro,Texas
with her brothers
and resided there
until her death in
1944.
Tom Hash died
about a month
before Jane did
and is buried at
the Locust
Cemetery close to
Pottsboro; his
wife Ellie Avaline
is buried next to
him. There is only
a rock that marks
their graves.
On the 1910 Census
of Grayson County,
Texas, Sarah Jane
Myers states she
is a farmer,
renting on farm
schedule 95.
She was buried in
the Georgetown
Cemetery next to
her daughter,
Minnie Clountz,
near Pottsboro,
Grayson Co.,
Texas.
