Mr. and Mrs. Charlie Krobot and family of Bay City visited his sister, Mr. and Mrs. R. I. Reininger, last Sunday.

Mr. and Mrs. Jerry Ivicic spent last weekend in Taylor looking after business affairs.

Children of Mr. and Mrs. Adolph Vincik, Margie and Kenneth, have been spending the week in Victoria with their grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Walter Dietzel.

Mrs. J. A. Leissner and Madlyn combined business and pleasure on a trip to Houston and Baytown last week.

Mrs. D. A. James returned to her home in Adkins after spending…son, Mr. and Mrs. W. F. James several weeks here visiting her and family.

We wish Mrs. Jerry Rozspal, a speedy recovery. She underwent surgery at the Mauritz Memorial Hospital Friday morning.

Master James Gibson, son of Mr. and Mrs. Bill Gibson of Baytown, is here vacationing in the home of his aunt, Mr. and Mrs. Harry Elles and Roger Dale.

Jerry Sembera and Jake Leissner of our community were among those to make the Mathieson Fertilizer Tour to Houston last week. Both men reported a day well spent.

Mr. and Mrs. Jack Jones and children left early Sunday morning to start their month-long vacation. They plan to tour the West coast and visit relatives in California.

Mr. and Mrs. E. P. Sralla and son, Ronnie, visited their daughter, Mr. and Mrs. James Blair and little son in Victoria Sunday.

Congratulations and best wishes to Mr. and Mrs. John Young. Miss Bobbie Jean Ledkins and John Young exchanged vows Saturday afternoon at 2 at the Lolita Baptist Church.

Mr. and Mrs. C. C. Miles and family were pleasantly surprised when her sister, Mr. and Mrs. Gene Sites, and family of Austin, came to spend several days with them.

Little Vicky Cross, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. L. L. Cross was honored with a birthday party Saturday afternoon. Delicious refreshments were served the youngsters after spending most of the time playing games.

Mr. and Mrs. J. J. Thuemler and daughter, Mary Aileen, of Alvin spent the weekend with Mr. and Mrs. John Chlastak and family.

Mr. and Mrs. F. J. Korenek attended the funeral of Mrs. Mozisek in Hillje last week. Deepest sympathy is extended to Mr. and Mrs. Adolf Novasad of Edna, on the loss of her mother, Mrs. Mozisek.

Mr. and Mrs. Jake Leissner and Madlyn spent the weekend in Austin with the Ravens and attended the Raven-Clark wedding there Saturday night.

Mike McMannua of Channelview is visiting his aunt and uncle, Mr. and Mrs. Henry Sembera.

Those to attend the CYO rally in Victoria Sunday were: Gladys Jaak, Barbara and Kathleen Sumbera, Rosie Sralla, Beatrice Zacek, Lillie Kucera, Charlotte, Martha and Patsy Sumbera, Timmy Cernosek and Rev. Edward Bartsch.

Mr. and Mrs. James Kubala of Yorktown spent Sunday here visiting his sister, Mrs. Mary Stepan.

Mr. and Mrs. F. J. Dolezal and son, Fred, accompanied by their grandson, Dennis Lery, of the U S. Air Force were on a sight-seeing tour along the Gulf Coast and Padre Island.

Mr. and Mrs. A. Schroeder accompanied by Mrs. Clementine Schroeder and little son returned to their home in Cincinnati, Ohio after having spent some time in the home of Mr. and Mrs. George Schattel.

Mr. and Mrs. Jarvis Clay and son, Wayne, of Richmond spent last weekend here visiting her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Joe Malcik.

Mr. and Mrs. A. M. Slaydon spent the weekend in Baytown visiting her sister, Mr. and Mrs. Aron Granger and her mother, Mrs. Reeves.

Mr. and Mrs. Frank Seith of West have been visiting friends and relatives here, being the guests of her sister, Mr. and Mrs. Lud Gerik.

Mr. and Mrs. Patrick Sumbera of Victoria visited his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Henry Sumbera Saturday.

The LaSalle Hall was the scene of a Gala occasion Saturday evening at which Mr. and Mrs. Joe Elles Sr. of our community were honored on their 50th wedding anniversary, Relatives and friends from near and far, including a brother, Mr. and Mrs. Steve Elles of Newark, N. J. came to congratulate them. The hall was appropriately decorated for the occasion. A delicious supper of barbecue and sausage and all the trimmings was served to some 200 guests. We wish Mr. and Mrs. Elles many more happy anniversaries.

Mr. and Mrs. Albert Novak spent last Friday at a church bazaar in Praha.

Mr. and Mrs. Henry Sumbera and Malcolm and Mike McManus motored to Channelview Sunday. Mike has spent the past month here visiting his aunt and uncle.

We regret to have Mr. and Mrs. Jerry Ivicic move from our community. They are now back home in Taylor and we wish them well in their home.

Mr. and Mrs. J. J. Dolezal of Needville spent Sunday here visiting the C. B. Semberas.—Misses Charlotte and Martha Carole had spent the week visiting them.

Mrs. August Trojcak and son, Billy, spent one day last week in Galveston on a combined business and pleasure trip.

Pvt. Raymond Kolar of Camp Chaffee, Ark., is home on leave visiting his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Henry Kolar.

Mr. and Mrs. Jack Jones and children, Rita and Ben, returned from their vacation of about 4 weeks of touring several states and the West Coast. They report a very enjoyable time.

Fred Dolezal spent last weekend in Houston on a combined business and pleasure trip.

Mr. and Mrs. J. R. White are on their vacation, visiting friends and relatives in Dublin, LaMesa, New Mexico and many places of interest.

Mr. and Mrs. George Schattel spent the weekend in Corpus Christi, the guests of their daughter, Mr. and Mrs. Gene Bonelli.

Mr. and Mrs. Albert Novak spent Sunday in Weimar visiting his mother who is a patient in a Weimar Hospital,

Mr. and Mrs. Jack Whitmore and sons of Houston. spent Sunday here visiting her dad, Mr. and Mrs. Jake Leissner.

J. P. McManus and son, Mike, of Channelview, and Ivan Sumbera of Houston spent Sunday visiting Mr. and Mrs. Henry Sumbera and family. Phillip McManus accompanied his dad home after spending a week or two here visiting his aunt and uncle.

Congratulations to Mr. and Mrs. Jasper Venglar on the arrival of a baby girl, Mary Faye. Also to Mr. and Mrs. Lad Dusek on the arrival of a baby girl, Rosalee. Both babies were born in the hospital in Ganado last Tuesday morning,

Mrs. Mary Stepan motored to Victoria early Saturday morning to accompany Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Kolar to spend the weekend in Yorktown visiting friends and relatives and attending a family reunion.

Mr. and Mrs. Sterling Oliver of Bay City spent the past weekend here visiting Mr. and Mrs. Reed Oliver.

Mrs. Jimmie Blair and little son spent Sunday with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. E. P. Sralla,

The community extends deepest sympathy to Mrs. Howard Holland on the sudden death of her husband, Howard Holland.

Mr. and Mrs. Jake Leissner were in Houston attending to business matters one day last week. Many Jackson County residents enjoyed the Water Show and good eats sponsored by the Industrial Fire Dept. on Labor Day-certain--ly is wonderful to have these good people out to boost the Volunteer Fire Dept.

Misses Margie and Carol Vincik, daughters of Mr. and Mrs. Adolph Vincik, were complimented. with a birthday party at their home Sunday afternoon. Many of their classmates and friends spent an enjoyable afternoon playing games after which they were all served delicious refreshments.

Pvt. Raymond Kolar, son of Mr. and Mrs. Raymond Kolar, left Wednesday night from Victoria to report to his new location in Limestone, Maine after spending his leave here with his family.

Mr. and Mrs. Jack Dolezal of Houston visited the C. B. Sembera family Tuesday evening.

Jerry Ivicic of Taylor, formerly of our community, was on a combined business and pleasure trip here one day last week.

Mr. and Mrs. R. J. Stepan of Rosenberg have been looking after business matters in our community several days last week.

Mr. and Mrs. Leo Toman and daughter, Mary Jane, of Rosenberg, spent the Labor Day weekend here visiting relatives, Mr. and Mrs. Lad Dusek and family, Mr. and Mrs. E. P. Sralla, Mr. and Mrs. Jerry Sembera and Mr. and Mrs. C, B. Sembera.

Mr. and Mrs. John Semander of Houston are here on a combined business and pleasure trip.

Mr. and Mrs. Lud Gerik "accompanied by Mr. and Mrs. F. Dolezal enjoyed a movie in Hillje one night last week.

Mr. and Mrs. Pete Dusek of La Grange spent Sunday in the home of his brother, Mr. and Mrs. Lad Dusek and family.

Mr. and Mrs. A. M. Slaydon visited their son, Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth Slaydon and daughters in Point Comfort last Saturday. Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth Slaydon moved to Beaumont Monday, where Mr. Slaydon will attend college.

Mr. and Mrs. Johnnie Zacek and family spent the weekend in Needville with relatives and attended a church bazaar there.

Mr. and Mrs. George Schattel attended a piano concert given by their son-in-law, Gene Bonelli, in Corpus Christi one evening last week.

Congratulations to our Jackson County Fair Queen, Madlyn Ann Leissner, of our community. Everyone is also very proud of the float and booth which took first places at the fair. Thanks to everyone who made this possible.

Our deepest sympathy to Mr. and Mrs. John Chlastak and family on the loss of his mother, Mrs. Barbara Chlastak. Services for her were held in Yoakum Saturday morning.

Mr. and Mrs. J. A. Leissner are proud owners of a brand new pickup truck.

Mr. and Mrs. Joe Malcik visited their granddaughter, Mr. and Mrs. Buddy Grover, and Marisa of Edna, one day last week, being their dinner guests.

Our sympathy is also extended to Bill Janak on the loss of an uncle, Mr. Janak in Hallettsville.

Congratulations to Mr. and Mrs. Patrick Sumbera of Victoria on the birth of a baby girl Sunday afternoon. Paternal grandparents are Mr. and Mrs. Henry Sumbera of our community.

Mr. and Mrs. Vernon Leissner and family of Bay City visited with the J. A. Leissners last week.

Mr. and Mrs. Aug. Trojcak are enjoying a new Chevrolet.

Mr. and Mrs. J. R. Blair and son of Victoria, accompanied her parents, Mr. and Mrs. E. P. Sralla and family to Granger where they spent the day Saturday. Mr. and Mrs. Blair and son plan to leave Tuesday for West Virginia where he is being stationed with the Air Force.

Mr. and Mrs. Gene Bonelli of Corpus Christi spent the weekend with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. George Schattel.

Mr. and Mrs. Frankie Korenek of Houston accompanied by her mother and sister, Mrs. Mozisek, and Elnora of Hillje and his mother, Mrs. F. J. Korenek, of our community are touring New Mexico, Utah and Oklahoma.

Mrs. H. Silvadell of Houston made a special trip to attend the Jackson County Fair and to look after business matters in our community.

Mr. and Mrs. A. M. Slaydon spent most of last week in Baytown looking after business, matters.

Seems as though most everyone has gotten their "catch" of "beautiful" red fish the past week.

Mr. and Mrs. Frank Kubala and Mr. and Mrs. James Kubala, all of Yorktown spent Sunday visiting their sister, Mrs. Mary Stepan.

Mrs. Jake Leissner spent the weekend in Houston attending BPW convention.

Mr. and Mrs. Pat Bosak spent the weekend in Kingsville, the guests of their daughter, Mr. and Mrs. L. L. Gerik and girls.

Mrs. Henry Kolar, accompanied by daughter, Miss Sylvia Kolar, of Victoria are spending several days this week in Beeville, the guests of another daughter, Mr. and Mrs. A. E. McNabb, Jr. and family.

Mr. and Mrs. Chas. Vincik of Beasley visited relatives in our community last Monday; including the Voleks, Vinciks and Schattels.

Joe Fojtik of Houston is spending a few days here visiting his parents, Mr. and Mrs. F. J. Fojtik.

Mr. and Mrs. Joe Jurcak accompanied by her parents, Mr. and Mr. Joe Elles, Sr., are visiting friends and relatives in Penelope, Temple, West and Taylor.

Mr. and Mrs. Fred Hawes of San Antonio have been visiting friends here the past week.

Clifford Krcha of Rosenberg has been here on a combined pleasure and business mission the past week George James of San Antonio spent the past week here visiting friends and relatives. He is the guest of his brother, Mr. and Mrs. Bill James and family. We wish Joe Vincik a speedy recovery. He is a patient in the hospital in El Campo.

Deepest sympathy to the family of Mrs. Joseph Pecha of Yoakum who passed away Thursday. Funeral services were Saturday morning. Immediate family in our community are a son, Adolph Pecha, and sisters, Mrs. Joe Vincik and Mrs. Joe Fojtik.

We wish Mrs. Jerry Sembera a speedy, recovery. She has been a patient in the Rugeley-Blasingame Hospital in Wharton.

Mr. and Mrs. P. H. Reissig have been spending the past week in Victoria visiting friends and relatives and looking after business matters.

Mr. and Mrs. A. E. McNabb Jr. and family of Beeville spent the weekend here visiting her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Henry Kolar, and family and Miss Sylvia Kolar of Victoria who is on vacation at this time.

Mr. and Mrs. Wilbur Gurdamal of Houston, spent the weekend here visiting her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Joe Fojtik and other relatives

Sgt. Joe Vincik of Mt. Home, Idaho is home to be at the bedside of his dad who is a patient in the El Campo hospital.

Mrs. John Chlastak is visiting her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Joe Kotelek, in Flatonia this week. Mr. Kotelek has been confined to his bed on account of an accident.

Mr. and Mrs. A. M. Slaydon were Sunday evening guests of Mr. and Mrs. John Pryor in Inez.

Mrs. Annie Matak was among those to attend the Gadosek-Sefcik wedding in Needville last weekend.

Mr. and Mrs. Jerry Sembera and Judy accompanied Mr. and Mrs. Jim Sembera and daughters of Vanderbilt to Rosenberg last Sunday to visit Mr. and Mrs. Leo Sembera.

Mr. and Mrs. J. A. Leissner were among the many to attend the A&M-University of Houston game at Rice Stadium Saturday night and to enjoy the Texas Bands half time show.

The many friends of Mr. and Mrs. A. M. Slaydon wish them lots of good luck in their home in Orange. They will certainly be greatly missed in our community, after having resided here some twelve and one half years.

Miss Mary Ann Kusak of Victoria has been spending a part of her vacation here visiting her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Joe Kusak.

Mr. and Mrs. R. L. Reininger in a letter from their son, Gail, state that he is enjoying his work as an engineer in an A. V. Hospital in New Orleans, La.

Mr. and Mrs. George Schattel were among the many to attend the Wharton County Fair.

Floyd Moorefield of Corpus Christi visited his aunt and uncle, Mr. and Mrs. J. V. Davis recently.

Congratulations to Mr. and Mrs. H. L. Marsh on the arrival of a little son last Thursday morning.

Mr. and Mrs. Gene Bonelli of Corpus Christi spent the weekend with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. George Schattel.

Mr. and Mrs. Tommy Paulson of Vanderbilt entertained with home movies at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Adolf Elles last Wednesday night. Those enjoying the movies were Mr. and Mrs. Joe Elles, Sr., Mr. and Mrs. R. W. Chada, Mr. and Mrs. Jerry Sembera and Judy, Mrs. Harry Elies, Mrs. Joe Jurcak and Mrs. Lud Gerik.

Mr. and Mrs. Henry Kolar and Larry and Mrs. Mary Stepan were Sunday guests of Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Kolar in Victoria Sunday. Others visiting the Kolar home were his sister, Miss Sylvia Kolar, and Bill Gentry, also of Victoria and her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Frank Kubala of Yorktown.

Mr. and Mrs. C. B. Sembera and daughters were Sunday guests of her parents, Mr. and Mrs. J. J. Dolezal in Needville.

Mr. and Mrs. Pat Bosak spent last weekend in Rosenberg and Needville visiting relatives and friends.

Visitors in the home of Mr. and Mrs. Frank Korenek last Sunday were their children, Mr. and Mrs. J. P. Gebauer and children, Linda and Timothy, of Houston and Mr. and Mrs. Geo. F. Korenek and children, Beverly Ann and George Jr., of Bellaire.

Congratulations to Fred Dolezal on winning the 8mm camera and projector given by the K.C. at the picnic in Edna last Sunday. Mr. and Mrs. Joe Sembera of Wharton were here on a combined business and pleasure trip last Thursday.

Mr. and Mrs. Johnny Zacek and family spent the weekend in Needville visiting their parents and other relatives and friends.

Congratulations to our Jackson County Fair Queen, Miss Madlyn Leissner, in participating in the Rice Festival at Bay City and her float winning first place in the parade.

Schoolmates and friends all wish Miss Pat Sasse, a speedy recovery--she is a patient in the Citizens Memorial Hospital in Victoria and daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Harry Sasse of Magnolia Camp.

It's welcome home to Mr. and Mrs. Glenn Leissner of Aguna [Laguna] Beach, California. Glenn has been in the service of the Marines the past two years.

The community wishes Mrs. Irene Pecha a speedy recovery. She is in a hospital in Houston, following major surgery last Wednesday.

Little Mary Frances White, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Don White of Bloomington spent a part of last week here visiting her aunt and uncle, Mr. and Mrs. Joe Kusak. Mr. and Mrs. E. P. Sralla and children, Ronnie and Rose Marie, visited relatives in Rosenberg last Saturday.

Frank Dolezal observed his birthday Monday. Those to help him celebrate and enjoy a delicious dinner with his family were his daughter, Mr. and Mrs. Ollie Kopecky and his parents, Mr. and Mrs. F. Kopecky of El Campo, Mr. and Mrs. Bohocek of East Bernard and Mrs. R. W. Chada and Mrs. Mary Stepan.

Mr. and Mrs. Lud Gerik spent the weekend in Kingsville, the guests of their son, Mr. and Mrs. Leonard Gerik and family.

Mrs. Reed Oliver of Longview is spending several days here visiting her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Joe Malcik.

Mr. and Mrs. Rudy Gleinser and children of Victoria have been visiting her mother, Mrs. Jacob Rozsypal several days this week. The Community extends it deepest sympathy to the family of John Kucera of Devine, a resident of our community many years ago, Mr. Kucera passed away Tuesday. Immediate family includes his brother, Joe P. Kucera of our community.

Mr. and Mrs. Frank Sembera and family of Victoria were Tuesday evening visitors of his brother, Mr. and Mrs. Jerry Sembera.

Mr. and Mrs. Glenn Leissner visited in Baytown last week, the guests of his sister, Mr. and Mrs. Artie Lamb.

Mr. and Mrs. Lad Dusek and family spent the weekend in Rosenberg visiting relatives. Mr. and Mrs. Leo Sembera and family and Mr. and Mrs. L. B. Toman and family.

Mrs. Geo. Schattel, Mrs. Joe Volek and Mrs. Joe Vincik visited their brother and brother-in- law, Frank Vincik, in the hospital in Houston one day last week.

Mr. and Mrs. B. B. Chada of Edna were dinner guests of his parents, Mr. and Mrs. R. W. Chada, Saturday.

Reed Oliver of Pasadena spent the weekend here visiting Mrs. Oliver and her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Joe Malcik.

Mr. and Mrs. L. Shimek and family of Corpus Christi visited her sister, Mr. and Mrs. August Trojcak and family recently

Mr. and Mrs. Joe Malcik accompanied Mrs. Reed Oliver to visit relatives in Temple last week. Don't forget the Turkey Shoot, baked turkey supper, pony rides, games, etc. and dance at the LaSalle on Sunday Nov. 9. The Turkey shoot starting at 1 p. m., supper at 4:30. Everyone is invited to attend.

Mr. and Mrs. C. W. Krcha of Rosenberg visited friends and relatives here and in Edna the past weekend.

Mr. and Mrs. A. E. McNabb Jr. and family of Beeville, visited her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Henry Kolar last weekend. Mr. Kolar has been on the sick list. Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Kolar and Miss Sylvia Kolar all of Victoria, were also home to visit their parents Saturday and Sunday.

The Industrial Cobra band made a trip to Gonzales Warm Springs Foundation Saturday. Band students enjoyed visiting their school mate, Charles Henning, a patient at the Foundation.

Local CYO members were hosts to the VYCCD meeting at the La Salle Hall, Sunday, Oct. 12. A record number of youths registered and enjoyed the afternoon session. A buffet style supper was served at 6 o'clock and a dance followed.

Mr. and Mrs. Rudy Elles are enjoying a 1959 Chevrolet.

Mr. and Mrs. Jake Leissner and Madlyn observed Mr. Leissner's birthday with a family reunion at the home of a son, Mr. and Mrs. Vernon Leissner in Bay City recently.

The community was saddened by the death of Joe Vincik last Monday. Services were held from St. Theresa's Catholic Church last Thursday morning. To the bereaved family, the community extends its deepest sympathy.

We wish Mrs. J. R. White a speedy recovery. She is a patient in the hospital in Glenrose.

Mr. and Mrs. E. P. Sralla and son, Ronnie, attended a SPJST get-to-gether in Hallettsville Sunday afternoon. They also visited an uncle, Jim Vinklarek, a patient in the hospital in Hallettsville.

Mr. and Mrs. Jake Leissner and Miss Madlyn, spent the weekend in Brenham, the guests of Mrs. Leissner's sister and family.

Don't forget the big turkey shoot and baked turkey supper at the LaSalle Hall next Sunday, Nov. 9. The turkey shoot starts at 1:00 p. m. and the supper at at 4:30 and plates will sell for $1.00. Also pony rides, games and dance at night to the music of Sonny Stafford. St. Theresa's Parish invites everyone to come out and spend an enjoyable afternoon and night. Don't forget the date, Sunday, Nov. 9.

Mr. and Mrs. Joe Volek motored to Bloomington early Sunday morning to accompany Mr. and Mrs. Frank Jelenik and family to Poth to attend a golden wedding anniversary celebration of Mrs. Volek's relative.

Mr. and Mrs. Jerry Sembera motored to Hallettsville Saturday to visit an uncle, Jim Vinklarek, a patient in the hospital there.

A large number attended and enjoyed the concert given by Gene Bonelli at the High School auditorium in Edna Sunday afternoon.

Mr. and Mrs. Pete Matak Jr. and family of Beaumont and Mr. and Mrs Wilbert Matak and family of El Campo visited their mother, Mrs. Annie Matak, brothers, and sisters and friends last weekend.

L. L. Cross attending highway patrol school in Austin, spent last week here visiting his wife, Mrs. L. L. Cross and daughters.

M. and Mrs. Leon Korenek of Houston spent last weekend here visiting his parents, Mr. and Mrs. F. J. Korenek.

J. R. White motored to Glenrose Friday where he was joined by Mrs. White. She had been released after being a patient in the hospital at Glenrose. They also attended the funeral of John Coate in Ft. Worth Saturday.

Mr. and Mrs. Lud Gerik spent last week in West visiting friends and relatives there, including the A. J. Geriks and the Frank Seiths.

Mr. and Mrs. Bobby Hardin and son of Louisiana spent last week or so here visiting her parents, Mr. and Mrs. John Chlastak, and family. Mr. Hardin was injured recently while at work.

Mr. and Mrs. Joe Malcik were among the many to enjoy the Golden Wedding celebration honoring Mr. and Mrs. Steve Kurcera in Ganado last Saturday. Mr. and Mrs. Malcik having observed their 50th anniversary a few years ago. Mr. John E. Kucera of our community is a son of Mr. and Mrs. Steve Kucera. To the honored couple we wish many happy years of golden bliss.

Mr. and Mrs. Frank Jurca of Needville spent Sunday visiting a daughter, Mr. and Mrs. John Zacek and family.

We extend our deepest sympathy to Jo Malcik on the death of a brother-in-law, John Marecek, of Temple. Funeral services were held Sunday afternoon.

Mrs. Jerry Rozsypal complimented her son, Jerry Paul, with a birthday party Sunday afternoon.

School friends and class mates enjoyed playing games after which Mrs. Rozyspal served the little folks delicious refreshments.

Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Kolar of Victoria spent the weekend here visiting his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Henry Kolar and aunt, Mrs. Mary Stepan.

Mr. and Mrs. A. Lamb and family of Baytown spent the weekend with her dad, Mr. and Mrs. Jake Leissner and Madlyn.

Mr. and Mrs. Pat Bosak spent last weekend in Kingsville, the guests of their daughter, Mr. and Mrs. L. L. Gerik and daughters.

Mr. and Mrs. Henry Sumbera and son, Mr. and Mrs. Patrick Sumbera of Victoria were among the many to attend the Texas A&M-Rice games in Houston last Saturday.

Mr. and Mrs. John Chlastak and daughters and Mr. and Mrs. Bobby Hardin and son of Louisiana were dinner guests of Mr. and Mrs. Robert Hagel and family in Victoria Saturday.

Mr. and Mrs. R. F. Oliver of Longview have been visiting her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Joe Malcik and their friends the past week. Wallace, a law student at the University of Texas spent the weekend here with them. The men were on hand to get in some early season deer hunting and Wallace was on hand to show them how Sunday morning. Congratulations.

Mrs. Curtiss Etzell and children of Houston spent the Thanksgiving weekend here, visiting her sisters, Miss Bernice Venglar, Mrs. John Kurcera and brothers, Jasper. Emil and George Venglar,

Rev. and Mrs. A. J. Bales of Tryon, Oklahoma are here visiting their daughter, Mr. and Mrs. Jack Jones and family.

Mr. and Mrs. R. L. Reininger motored to San Antonio last Wednesday to spend the holidays with their daughter, Mr. and Mrs. L. L. Cross and family.

Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth Palmer and daughters of Oklahoma spent the long weekend here visiting friends and relatives and her mother, Mrs. Annie McDonald and Victor, Mr. and Mrs. Luther McDonald and sons of Vanderbilt were on hand to enjoy Thanksgiving dinner with his mother and sister.

Mr. and Mrs. Joe Malcik enjoyed Thanksgiving day with Mr. and Mrs. J. B. Kolar and family.

Mr. and Mrs. A. E. McNabb Jr. of Beeville have been visiting home folks the past weekend visiting her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Henry Kolar. Mrs. Kolar has been on the sick list and under the doctor's care. We wish her a speedy recovery Other children home for the weekend included their son, Mr. and Mrs, Clarence Kolar and daughter, Miss Sylvia Kolar of Victoria.

Mr. and Mrs. C. B. Sembera and family spent the holiday visiting her parents, Mr. and Mrs. J. J. Dolezal in Needville,

Mr. and Mrs. Jake Leissner accompanied by Mr. and Mrs. Glenn Leissner and Miss Madlyn Leissner motored to Austin to attend the wedding of a relative Wednesday, and of course were on hand to see the big game Thanksgiving Day.

Mr. and Mrs. Joe Elles Sr., Mr. and Mrs. Harry Elles and Roger Dale, Mr. and Mrs. Adolf Elles and Jimmy all enjoyed Thanksgiving Day dinner with Mr. and Mrs. Tommy Paulson in Vanderbilt.

Mr. and Mrs. Johnnie Zacek and family spent the holiday weekend in Needville visiting her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Frank Juren and other relatives and friends.

Visiting in the home of Mr. and Mrs. F. J. Dolezal and Fred on Turkey day, were their daughters, Mr. and Mrs. Ollie Kopecky of El Campo and Mr. and Mrs. Oscar Joe Bobbit of Victoria.

Mr. and Mrs. Adolph Vincik and family spent Thanksgiving holiday in Fredericksburg. They all reported an enjoyable time on their hunting weekend,

Joe Gaidosik of Needville is spending several days here visiting his daughter, Mrs. Annie Matak and other relatives.

Mrs. Stacy Skrabenak of Temple spent several days last week here visiting Mr. and Mrs. Joe Jurcak.

Sunday visitors in the home of Mr. and Mrs. Frank Polosak and sons included his sisters, Mr. and Mrs. Zabransky of Shiner and Mr. and Mrs. Albert Novak of our community.

Mr. and Mrs. Tommy Paulson and son, Mark, of Point Comfort visited her parents Mr. and Mrs. Joe Elles Sr., Monday evening.

Mr. and Mrs. Frank Sacky of Corpus Christi visited his brother, Mr. and Mrs. August Sacky, Sr. and family last Sunday.

Mrs. Henry Sumbera and son, Malcolm, Marvin Kucera, and A. J. Zacek spent Sunday in Columbia visiting her sister, Mr. and Mrs. John Hluchanek.

Mr. and Mrs.. Raymond Kolar and children of Orange are here spending a few days with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Henry Kolar.
