Walter Scott Sr., 80, a resident of El Maton, passed away November 2 in El Maton. He was a member of the Church of the Living God and of the Gulf Coast Lodge No. 272 F & AM Masons. Survivors include: wife, Mrs. Rachel Scott of El Maton; 3 daughters, Mrs. Lorrell Brown of El Maton, Mrs. Annie B. Tisdom of Beeville and Mrs., Bessie L. Walker of Los Angeles, California; 3 sons, Marshall Scott, Roscoo Scott and Walter Scott Jr. all of Houston; 1 brother, Howard Scott of Texas City; a host of grandchildren and great grandchildren.  Funeral services will be held at Mother Zion Baptist Church in Bay City Sunday, November 5, at 2 pm with Rev. A. C. Grace officiating. Interment will be at Eastview Cemetery.

Funeral services for Cal “Lil Peters” Sims, 89, of Bay City are scheduled for Tuesday Dec. 17, 1996, at 1 pm at Mother Zion Baptist Church with the Rev. K. J. Griggs officiating.  Burial will follow in Eastview Cemetery in Bay City. The body will lie in state from noon to 1 pm at Mother Zion Church.

Cal “Lil Peters” Sims passed away Dec. 13, 1996, at Matagorda General Hospital.  He was a member of the Mother Zion Baptist Church.

He is survived by his children, two sons and one daughter-in-law, Michael Simes (Wanda) and Larry Sims, all of Bay City and two daughters and son-in-law, Mrs. Sharon Hebert (Michael) and Mrs. Carol Monroe (Kenneth), all of Bay City.  Also one stepson, Lamar Wiggins of San Francisco, California; nine grandchildren, Tamkia, Larry, Semyon, Kenechia, Alicia, Tamyra, Michael Jr., Jarvis and Tara, as well as five great grandchildren.  Two sisters, Mrs. Lois Boone and Mrs. Gladys Moore of Houston, Texas, four sisters-in-laws, Mrs. Lizzie Earls, Ms. Essie Brown, Mrs. Amy Austin, and Mrs. Odiest Times; one brother-in-law and wife, Earlie Brown (Willie Lee). Also a special niece, Genevie Allen of Texas City and host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends who knew him as “Lil Peters.”

Pallbearers are Roosevelt Allen, Hewitt Wiggins, Randall Knapp, Murrary Griggs, Jr., Hebert Fields, Ira Edison.  Honorary pallbearers are Michael Hebert, Kenneth Monroe, Semyon Sims, Larry Callis, Michaelk Sims, Jr., Jarvis Ross

Green’s Mortuary is in charge of arrangements.

BAY CITY—Andrew Smith Jr., 21, of Bay City, died Saturday, Aug. 7, 2004. He was born June 20, 1983, in Freeport, to Andrew Sr. and Berrilyn Moore Smith of Bay City.  He was a student at the University of North Texas in Denton.

Survivors; sister, Raquisha Smith of Bay City; brother, Michael Smith of Bay City; and a grandmother, Mildred Smith of Bay City.

Visitation will be 3-9 pm today at Duncan-Roberts Funeral Home Chapel and 9-11 am Saturday at First Baptist Church. Services will be 11 am Saturday at the church, the Rev. Michael Zimmerman and J. Weldon Gilbert officiating. Burial will be at Eastview Cemetery.
