Minnie Spiller
December 23, 1883 – September 10, 1968

Born to Mr. and Mrs. Wilst Spiller, a daughter whom they named Minnie. She was born December 23, 1883 in Matagorda County, Cedar Lane, Texas and attended public school there.

At an early age she confessed faith in Christ and joined Shiloh Baptist Church under the divine leadership of the late Rev. Anthony Martin, and served as president of the Mission Society for a number of years. She was a very active and diligent church worker, until her health began to fail her. She departed this life Sept. 10, 1968 at 7:00 A. M. Her survivors include four children, two sons and two daughters: Mrs. Annie Fields, Mrs. Lorena Brown, Mr. Dewey Jones and Mr. Wilson Jones, all of Cedar Lane, Texas. Two brothers, Mr. Ezell Spiller of Bay City and Mr. Alex Spiller of Van Vleck, Texas. 28 grandchildren, 112 great grandchildren and 21 great great grandchildren, 112 great grandchildren and 21 great great grandchildren. Also countless nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.

Service: Sunday, September 15, 1968, 12:30 P. M., Shiloh Baptist Church, Cedar Lane, Texas

Pallbearers: Grandsons: Donald Fields, Hillard Fields, Eugene Fields, Nelson Brown, John Brown and John Henry Woodard.

Honorary Pallbearers: Nephews: Floyd Spiller, Joe Spiller, Earl Spiller, Ernest Mill, Buster Sidney and Roscoe Henderson.

Interment: Shiloh Cemetery

Pearly Mae Bonner Spiller was born to Odell and Vera Bonner on October 13, 1955 in Houston, Texas and raised in Acres Home.  She is survived by her husband of 19 years - Kenneth Spiller; Mother - Vera Bonner; Children's - Cecilia K Bonner (Donald R Miller), Virginity L. Whaley (Patrick Whaley), Laurent Ann Taylor, Mya Ann Taylor Behnke, Shekina Ann Bonner-Spiller, Kenneth Bonner-Spiller, Breanna Spiller; Sister - Callie Bonner, Debra Ann Johnson (Olen), Loretta Felder (Randy); Stepchildren- Teela Spiller, Tina Spiller, Toni Segura (Ceane Segura); Mother in Law - Gladys Spiller; a host of nieces, nephews, and in - laws.  

She was preceded in death by Father - Odell Bonner; Father in Law - Floyd Spiller; Brothers - Larry Wayne Bonner and Donald Bonner

Funeral services for Minnie Lee Spiller-James, 87, of Bay City, are scheduled for 1 p. m. Wednesday in the Duncan-Roberts Funeral Home chapel in Bay City with the Rev. A. H. Pointer officiating. Burial will be in Shiloh Cemetery in Cedar Lane.

Visitation will be until 9 p. m. today at the Duncan-Roberts Funeral Home chapel and from 9 a. m. until the service time Wednesday.

Ms. Spiller-James was born July 5, 1906 in Cedar Lane and died Nov. 6, 1993.

Survivors include 22 first cousins, Mildred Smith, Ester Boston, Naomi Harkless, Earl Spiller Sr., Floyd Spiller Sr., all of Bay City; Lorena Brown, Nellie Brown, Leathie Tone, all of Cedar Lane; Thelma Powell, Flossie Young, Angel Allen, Susie Richardson, Cleo Tucker, Minnie Spiller, Joe Spiller, Terry Spiller, Robert Mills and Melvin Sidney, all of Houston; Catherine Alliniece of San Diego, Calif., Pearline Jackson of La Grange, Fred Spiller of Kansas City, Kan., Michael Spiller of Cocoa, Fla. and a host of other relatives and friends who knew her as “Frankie.”

She was preceded in death by her father, her mother, Amanda Spiller on July 10, 1968 and her husband, George James on Feb. 11, 1991.

Funeral services for Eddie Marie Taylor St. Bernard, 43, of Bay City, are scheduled for 2 p. m. Saturday, Aug. 6, 1994, at Mother Zion Baptist Church of Bay City with the Rev. K. J. Griggs. Burial will follow in Shiloh Cemetery in Cedar Lane.

Visitation will be until 9 p. m. today at the Duncan-Roberts Funeral Home chapel and from 1 to 2 p. m. Saturday at Mother Zion Church.

Mrs. St. Bernard was born March 28, 1951, in Bay City, to Phillip and Ollie Mae Washington-Taylor Sr. and died Aug. 2, 1994, in Bay City.

She was a member of the Baptist church.

Survivors include her husband, Lennox St. Bernard of Bay City; a son, Eric Turner of Bay City; two sisters, Ethel Mae Gordon and Ollie Jean Parks, both of Bay City; three brothers, Phillip Taylor of Waco, Hardit Eugene Taylor of Dallas and Jimmie Taylor of Bay City; two uncles, Odean Taylor of Bay City and Homer Washington of Baytown; nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives and friends and a special friend, Diane Sidney Mills of Bay City.

She was preceded in death by her father, Phillips Taylor Sr. on Dec. 17, 1984, and by her mother, Ollie Mae Taylor on Jan. 15, 1990.

Active pallbearers are Daryl Gordon, James Taylor, James Price, Odean Taylor Jr., Timothy Taylor, Ron Bonner and Oza Gordon.

Arrangements are with Duncan-Roberts Funeral home of Bay City.

Bay City—Naomi Stredic, 76, of Bay City, died Thursday, May 13, 2004.

She was born March 7, 1928, in Matagorda County, to the late Alvin and Lizzie Brown Holt.

Survivors: daughters, Flora Jackson, Nelda Jackson, and Vivian Stredic; sons, Dr. Elvin Holt, Aaron Stredic Jr., and Earol Stredic; and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be 3 – 9 p. m. today at Duncan-Roberts Funeral Home chapel.

Services will be 11 a. m. Thursday at Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witness.

Funeral services for Ollie Mae Taylor, 84, of Bay City will be held 1 p. m. Saturday at Mother Zion Baptist Church with the Rev. K. J. Griggs officiating. Burial to follow at Shiloh Cemetery, Cedar Lane.

Mrs. Taylor was born March 4, 1905, in Oma, Miss., to Homer and Eva Walker Washington and died Jan. 16, 1990 at her residence.

She was a member of the Baptist church.

Survivors include three daughters, Ethel M. Gordon, Ollie Jean Taylor and Mrs. Eddie M. St. Bernard, all of Bay City; three sons, Phillip Taylor Jr. of Waco, Hardy Eugene Taylor of Dallas and Jimmie Lee Taylor of Bay City; a brother, Homer Washington Jr. of Baytown; 16 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers include Torrey Bonner, James Price, Alexander Sheppard, David Gordon, Terrell Price and James Taylor.

Honorary pallbearers include Herman Parks Jr., Oza Gordon, Patrick Parks, Oden Taylor and ushers of churches in the vicinity.

Phillip Taylor
Jan. 15, 1936 – March 10, 2007

Funeral services for Phillip "P-Berry" Taylor, 70 of Bay City, Texas was at 1 p.m. Saturday, March 17, 2007 at Mother Zion Missionary Baptist Church, with the Rev. M. Martin officiating, and burial will be in Shiloh Cemetery in Cedar Lane, Texas. Visitation was from 3 until 8 p.m. Friday March 16, 2007 in the chapel of Green’s Mortuary.

Phillip was born January 15, 1936 to the late Phillip Taylor, Sr. and Ollie Mae Washing, and died March 10, 2007 in Waco, Texas at the V.A. Hospital.

Mr. Taylor is survived by: three sons, Phillip, Jr., Amar, Andrew; three daughters, Niya Taylor, of Waco, Texas, Kim and Rockal; two sisters, Ethel Mae Gordon and Ollie Parks; one brother, Jimmy Lee Taylor and a host of nieces and nephews; and other relatives.
