Funeral services for Evelyn Fields Thomas, 82, of Bay City, will be held Thursday, August 1, 2002, at Enterprise Baptist Church in Bay City with the Rev. J. Weldon Gilbert, pastor and the Rev. Murray Griggs, Sr. eulogist.

Burial will follow at Shiloh Cemetery in Cedar Lane.

Visitation will be Wednesday until 9 p.m. in the Duncan-Roberts Funeral Home Chapel.

She was born in Cedar Lane, TX, Wednesday, December 31, 1919, to Tommie Fields and Minerva Taylor Fields, and passed away Saturday, July 27, 2002, at her residence in Bay City.

Loving memories are left to her husband of 52 years, Tommie Thomas and two daughters, Audrey Gail Preston and Tommie Jean Thomas, all of Bay City, and four grandchildren, Terryll, Tarsha and Tamaulya Preston, and Corey Thomas, and two great-grands, Tatiyana and Arje. Also one brother, Lawyer Fields, Sr. and one brother-in-law, Roosevelt Thomas, both of Bay City; over 993 nieces and nephews which include five generations, other relatives and many friends who knew her as “Tithay”.

Other than her parents, she was preceded in death by 10 siblings, Jimmie, Adeline, Charlie, Hallard Fields, Virgie Spiller Rhodes, Louise Lewis, Tommie Fields, Jr., Archie Fields, Sr., Oddie Fields, Sr., and Catherine Lewis.

Active pallbearers will be Terryll Preston, Bernard Smith, Andre’ Jones, Herbert Fields, Rudy Charnic and Robert Rollins.

Honorary bearers are Abanell Cooper, Christine Walker, Marshall Whitley, Jr., Earl Griggs, Edna Tone, Vivian Griggs, Emeola Ross, Shirley Rutherford, Eddie Lou Griggs and Louis Ray.

Saturday, June 15, 2019 at 2 p.m. at Shiloh Missionary Baptist Church in Cedar Lane with Pastor Michael A. Reddick II eulogizing and the Rev. Kenneth Bree officiating.

Burial will follow at Shiloh Cemetery in Cedar Lane, TX.

Visitation will be Friday, June 14, 2019 from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Dixon Funeral Home in Brazoria, TX.

He passed away on Saturday, June 8, 2019 at Kindred Hospital in Sugar Land, TX.

He was a member of Shiloh Missionary Baptist Church where he served on the deacon board. He enjoyed traveling, playing basketball, playing dominoes, fishing and grilling. His greatest joy was spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren.  He was a member of O.H. Herman School Alumni.

He leaves to cherish his loving memories, his loving and devoted wife, Mary Thymes of Cedar Lane; sons, Marvin Wayne Thymes Sr. (Cynthia) of Navosota, Rodges Steve Thymes Jr. (Tracy) of Richwood and Derick Dwayne Thymes (Patricia) of Pflugerville; five grandchildren; five great grandchildren; and other relatives and friends.

Active pallbearers will be Reginald Austin, Byron Austin, Gregory Stevens II, Jason Stevens, Greg Lewis, Albert Windom, Harold Murphy and Herman Edison.

Funeral Services for Ethel Mae Tone, 87, of Bay City, were held at 11 a.m., Tuesday, November 10 at Shiloh Baptist Church, Cedar Lane, with the Rev. Steven Staten, pastor, and the Rev. L.V. Harvey, eulogist. Burial followed at Shiloh Cemetery.

She was born in Cedar Lane, Texas, August 28, 1922, to Eddie Tone and Leatha Mills Tone, and passed away November 4, 2009.

Survivors include: two sisters, Doris Tone and Veola Tone, both of Bay City and one brother, Edward Tone of Cedar Lane. Also one sister-in-law, Edna Tone; also six nieces including one she reared, Eddie Jean Turner, and a host of other relatives and friends.

She was preceded by: her parents and one brother, Charlie Tone.

Funeral services for Joseph Tone, 84, of Bay City, are scheduled for noon Thursday at the Duncan-Roberts Funeral Home chapel of Bay City with the Rev. L. V. Harvey officiating. Burial will follow in Shiloh Cemetery in Cedar Lane.

Visitation will be until 9 p. m. today at the Duncan-Roberts Funeral Home chapel in Bay City.

Mr. Tone was born June 20, 1909, in Cedar Lane to William and Ellen Grice Tone and died March 13, 1994, in Matagorda General Hospital of Bay City.

He was a member of the Baptist church.

Survivors include his wife, Annie Mae Tone of San Antonio; two special cousins, Veola Tone and Charles Tone of Bay City and many relatives and friends.

Leatha Mills Tone

Funeral services for Mrs. Leatha Mills Tone, 97, of Hitchcock, will be held Tuesday, August 17, 1999 at 1 p. m. at Shiloh Baptist Church in Cedar Lane with Rev. L. V. Harvey officiating. Burial will follow at Shiloh Cemetery in Cedar Lane.

Visitation will be Monday until 9 p. m. at the Duncan-Roberts Funeral Home chapel, and Tuesday from noon to 1 p. m. at the church.

She died Wednesday, August 11 at her residence in Hitchcock, Tex. and was born in Cedar Lane December 25, 1901 to Jesse Mills and Alberta Spiller Mills.

She was the second in a family of six children and attended Public School in Cedar Lane. Her spiritual aspirations transpired at an early age, and she became a member of Shiloh Baptist Church under the leadership of Rev. Lee P. Upon moving to Hitchcock she united with Galilee Baptist Church and kept the faith.

She is survived by her three daughters, Ethel Mae Tone, Veola Tone and Doris Tone and two sons and daughters-in-law, Edward Tone (& Stella) and Charlie Tone (& Edna), all of Bay City; seven grandchildren, eight great grandchildren, eight great-great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Eddie Tone on April 22, 1974; two sisters, Alfafa Thomas and Millie Brown; and three brothers, Earnest Mills, Robert Mills and Mason Mills.

Active pallbearers will include Edward Tone, Dennis Griggs, Tommie Thomas, Earnest Davidson and Marcellous Godley.

Honorary pallbearers will be Charlie Tone, Floyd Spiller, Jasper Ray Spiller, Jimmie Griggs and Eugene Fields. Arrangements are with Duncan-Roberts Funeral Home in Bay City.
