Lewis Brandy "L. B." Matthews

Funeral service for Mr. Lewis Brandy, "L. B." Matthews, age 62, of Boling, was held Tuesday, August 1st, at 12 o'clock Noon, at Union Baptist Church in Pledger with Rev. C. C Hayes officiating. Burial was in the Union Baptist Cemetery in Pledger.

Mr. Matthews was born March 4, 1933 in Don Tol, Texas, to Erie Jefferson and Timothy Matthews, and died July 28, 1995, at his residence in Boling.

Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Erma J. Matthews and his mother, Mrs. Erie Jefferson. Also three daughters, Shondrel, Carolyn and Debra, and two sons, Greling and Lewis Brandy, Jr. He also leaves a sister, Mrs. Vertie Grays, and two brothers, Wilbert and Junior L., as well as a number of grandchildren, aunts and uncles, nieces and nephews, many other relatives.

He was a long time employee of Gulf Supply Company in Freeport, Texas.

Active pallbearers include Ray Felder, Ray Griggs, Robert Ray Johnson, Bobbie Penrice, Sr., Eunice Spradley, Jr. and Jerry Waddy.

Honorary pallbearers included Sterling Armstead, Raymond Jackson, Norman Simmons, Eunice Spradley, Herman Spradley and Robert Spradley.

Carolyn Moore

PLEDGER--Carolyn Moore, 47, of Pledger, died Tuesday, Feb. 2, 2006.

She was born Dec. 18, 1958, in Bay City, to the late Thomas Baugh and Lurlene James Baugh.

Survivors: son, Catrel Moore; sister, Lurlene Kimble; and brother, Harold Baugh.

Visitation will be 3 p. m. to 9 p. m. today at Duncan-Roberts Funeral Home chapel.

Services will be 11 a. m. Saturday at Grove Hill Baptist Church in Pledger, the Revs. Leroy Blount and Jeffrey Lewings officiating.

Burial will be at Union Baptist Cemetery.
