Odell Virgil Bolt (Pedley),
passed away July 26, 2016 at the age of 82. He is preceded in death
by his parents Martin and Virginia Bolt, six sisters, two brothers and baby
Isabell Mackey, Odell called her little Robin. For twenty-two years
Odell had a place he could call home but God said
“old timber cutter you have a better home come and rest.”
Left to cherish his
memory is his wife of twenty two years, Ida Mae Bolt,; two stepsons,
Kenneth Beckner (Mary), Donald Beckner (Becky); two step daughters, Wanda
Hale (Tommy) , Marsha Brown (Bill); Grandchildren, Robin Mackey (Bryan),
Anthony Munsey (Alison), Scott Hale, Katrina Walker (Aaron), Susan
Meredith (DK), Ricky Beckner (Chris); fourteen great-grandchildren;
Molly his horse; lots of nieces, nephews and many good friends.
Funeral service
will be held at 2:00 p.m., Friday, July 29, 2016 at Maberry Funeral Home
with Rev. J.C. Willard officiating with interment in the Alderman
Cemetery. Family will receive friends from Noon to 2:00 p.m. prior to
the service.

Oscar L. “Tony” Bolt, of Montvale, Virginia went home to
be with the Lord on Saturday, December 19, 2020 at the age of
80.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Cephas and Ida
Bolt; brothers, Luther, John Lewis, and Olie (Page); sisters, Goldie
Swedenhjelm and Evena Sutphin.
He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Judy D. Bolt;
daughter, Tammie and husband Darryl Bryant; son, Tony and wife Tonya Bolt;
grandchildren, Ashley Lolley, Kristen Camper, Carrie Bryant, and Cody Bolt;
and great-grandchildren, Austin Lolley, Beau and Autumn Camper.
Tony proudly served his country in the U.S. Army. Tony
was self-employed in construction and plumbing. He enjoyed collecting
and refurbishing antiques and musical instruments. He also enjoyed hunting
and bluegrass music.
Graveside services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on
Wednesday, December 23, 2020 in the Alderman Cemetery with Rev. Troy Mays
officiating.
In lieu of flowers, please make donations to the upkeep
of Alderman Cemetery, c/o Gerald Hylton, 1515 Moles Road Willis, VA 24380.

Violet Brown, 92 of
Willis, went to be with the Lord, Monday, November 12, 2018. She was
preceded in death by her husband, Buddy Brown; father, Cosley Sutphin and
mother Annie Sutphin.
Violet was a loving
mother, grandmother and friend who loved the Lord. She dedicated her life
to serving God.

Dalton “Vince & Stub”, 68 of Floyd, went to be with the Lord on
Tuesday, December 27, 2011. His life occupations were construction, the
timber industry and small engine technician. He always said he was so
blessed that his business accomplishment was the great friends he made. He
played the guitar and had a love for bluegrass music. His favorite hobbies
were hunting and four-wheeling around the Buffalo Mountain with his friends
and family and spending time with his loving companion Crickett. Venston
was recently accepted as a member of the Buffalo Mountain Hunt Club which he was very proud of. He is preceded in death
by his parents, Gordon and Clova B. Dalton; son, Thomas A. Dalton; and
granddaughters Sarah and Faith Dalton.
Left to
cherish his memory is his wife of 42 years, Rhonda Turman Dalton; sons and
daughters-in-law, Venston “Vince” and Crystal Dalton, Vernon and Melissa
Dalton; daughter and son-in-law, Kathy and John Paul Duncan Jr.;

Mrs. Helms is survived by her husband Eugene Robert Helms, Jr.; daughters,
Anita Doreen Bradley (Michael), Janet LaDonn Witt; son, Richard Dean Helms

Rhonda Gail Maxey Holley, 61, of Martinsville, passed
away on Sunday, January 26, 2020, at Sovah Health, Martinsville.
She was born on November 20, 1958, in Carroll County, VA, to the late
Dorothy Webb Maxey and Bruce Everett Maxey. In addition to her parents, she
was preceded in death by a brother, Everett Dale Maxey.
Rhonda is survived by her sisters, Janet Morgan (Roy, Jr) of Figsboro and
Janice Taylor of Ridgeway; nephews, Roy Morgan III (Emily), Joseph Taylor
(Ashlynn), and Brandon Morgan (Whitney); great niece Amelia Morgan; and
good friend Linda Trent.
Prior to becoming disabled, Rhonda was a private duty care giver. She
enjoyed sewing, quilting, and was an avid reader.
The family suggest that memorials be made to the Martinsville-Henry County
SPCA, 132 Joseph Martin Hwy, Martinsville, VA 24112.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, February 1, 2020, at 12 p.m. at
Collins Funeral Home Chapel at Bassett, VA with Pastor Timothy Waller
officiating. Visitation will be held at the funeral home prior to the
service from 11:00 a.m. until 12 p.m. Interment will follow in the Alderman
Cemetery in Willis, VA.

Keith was born in Floyd on June 22, 1930, a son of James Henry Keith Sr.

Keith and Ronnie Keith.
He retired from W.M. Bassett Furniture Co.

Kayla Shelton; granddaughter, Braylee Mattingley; stepson, Bradley Hatcher;
and also, his friends at the Floyd Moose Lodge. Graveside service will be
held at 2 p.m. Friday, January 15, 2016 at the Alderman Cemetery with
Pastor Ronnie Sutphin officiating. Family will receive friends at Maberry
Funeral Home from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. prior to the service. In lieu of
flowers donations may be made to the American Cancer Society, 2840 Electric
Road Suite 106A, Roanoke, VA 24018. There will be a Memorial Service at the

David E. (Dave) Sutphin, 78, of Floyd,
slipped from this life of pain Monday, October 20, 2014. He was preceded in
death by his parents, Ewell Leonard and Treva Gay Bolt Sutphin; sister,
Joyce Marie Sutphin; brother, Dallas Ray Sutphin.
David went to Willis Elementary and High School where he played basketball.
He served his country in the United States Navy from 1955 till 1959. He
served on the Destroyer USS Sigourney. He was in the Engineering Division
as an Electricians Mate and obtained the Rank 2nd class Petty Officer.
David married the love of his life Delpha A. Weddle on November 26, 1959.
David worked at G.E. in the Test Department until becoming a longtime
businessman, he started out in a Frigidaire Dealership and HVAC and then as
a Furniture Retailer. He was the Sitting President of the Board of Trustees
for the Alderman Cemetery in Willis, Va. He was an avid sports fan of
football, basketball and racing and he loved to play cards.
He is survived by his loving wife of fifty-five years, Delpha Sutphin;
daughter and son-in-law, Sandra and Russ Rorrer of Woolwine, Va; son and
daughter-in-law, Steve and Heather Sutphin of Floyd, Va.; grandson, Jeffery
A. Sutphin of Floyd, Va.; brothers and sisters-in-law, Richard and Ruby
Sutphin of Floyd, Va, Randy and Betty Sutphin of Shippensburg, Pa, and Ron
and Fern Sutphin of Indian Valley, Va.; sister and brother-in-law, Marlene
and Cecil Compton of Floyd, Va.; numerous nieces and nephews and many, many
friends.
Funeral Service will be held 11 a.m. Friday October 24, 2014 at the Maberry
Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Darren Landon officiating. The interment
will follow in the Alderman Cemetery with Military Rites by the Floyd
V.F.W. Post #7854 and American Legion Post #127. The family will receive
friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, October 23, 2014 at Maberry Funeral

Ronnie Lee Sutphin, 72, formerly of
Radford and of Christiansburg, died Thursday, December 25, 2008. Ron joined
the United States Air Force, retiring after twenty one years. He also
served as a law enforcement officer for Carroll County, and Radford
University Police Department. He was born May 11, 1936 in Easton, Md. to
the late Henry Taylor and Virginia Mae Sutphin. He is survived by his wife,
Brenda Mabe Sutphin; three sons, Ronnie Lee Sutphin, Jr., and his wife,
Mary, Scott Taylor Sutphin and wife, Jeannette, Michael Harmon; one
daughter, Kim Michelle Hodge and her husband, Floyd. He is also survived by
four grandsons, Floyd Paul Hodge, Jr., Matthew McKinley Hodge and his wife,
Virginia, Ronnie Lee Sutphin, III, Ricky Paniagua; two granddaughters, Ashley
Michelle Sutphin, and Alexandra Katherine Sutphin. No visitation will be
held. In lieu of flowers contributions in his honor may be made to the
Ronnie Sutphin Memorial Fund, c/o 165 Patriot Way, Christiansburg, Va.,
24073. A military honors graveside service will be held, 11 a.m. Monday,

grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren;

Pastor James Calvin “J.C.”
Willard, Jr., age 69 of Meadows of Dan, passed away Saturday, January 8,
2022, at Northern Regional Hospital. He was born in Carroll County,
Virginia to the late James Calvin Willard, Sr. and Ruby Lee Turman Willard.
He had been the pastor of Lighthouse Baptist Church for over 30 years.
Pastor Willard is survived by his wife, Debra Lynn Bolt
Willard of the home; three children, Karen Horton of Bryson City, North
Carolina, Donnie Willard of Rocky Mount and Mary Gammon of Ararat; three
step-children, Jason Pratt (Heather) of Willis, Michelle Mashburn (Jon) of
Meadows of Dan and Kayla Ogle (Dereck) of Dugspur; sixteen grandchildren;
six great-grandchildren; one brother, Ricky Willard (Sandra) of Meadows of
Dan; two sisters, Barbara Wilson (Jerry) of Martinsville and Shirley
Willard of Martinsville; one niece and one nephew; one great nephew; and a
best friend, Robbie Yokum of Montvale.
Funeral services for Pastor Willard will be held on
Friday, January 21, 2022 at 12:00 p.m. at Moody Funeral Home in Stuart with
Pastor Jason Pratt officiating. Burial will follow in Alderman Family
Cemetery in Willis. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the

Gladys Moles Harris Williams, 82, of Willis, passed away
Wednesday, January 30, 2008. Gladys loved her family and friends. She
always looked forward to their visits, preparing meals and playing with the
children. She had a great love for horses, her flower garden and collecting
frogs. She was preceded in death by her first husband, O.W.
"Brud" Harris; and her second husband, Elmer Williams. Survivors
include her sons and daughters-in-law, Ronnie and Linda Harris, of
Christiansburg, Bill and Nadine Harris, of Hardy; her brothers and
sisters-in-law, Ollie and Betty Moles, Earl and Peggy Moles, all of Willis;
her grandchildren, Kevin Harris, Cherie Sartori and husband, Larry; her
great-grandchildren, Lexi and Andrew Sartori; and number of nieces and
nephews. Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Saturday, February 2, 2008, at
the Maberry Funeral Home Chapel, Floyd, with the Rev. Ralph Duncan
officiating. Interment will follow at the Alderman Cemetery. Friends may
call at Maberry Funeral Home on Friday, where the family will receive
friends from 6 to 8 p.m.

Saturday, December 23, 2000, at her daughter's home in Newark, Del. She was
born in Richmond to the late Luther C. and Ida Mary McAlexander Bolt. She
was the wife of the late James E. Winn. Survivors are two sons,
Donald W. Harmon, of Bear, Del., James E. McNair, Jr., of Pennsylvania; two
daughters, Terri A. McNair of Newark, Del., Jacqueline L. Swedenhjelm of
Centerville, Del.; two brothers, John L. Bolt and Tony Bolt, both of Blue Ridge;
one sister, Evena Sutphin of Shawsville. Mrs. Winn is also survived by five
grandchildren. In lieu of flowers the family requests that donations be
made to Mary Mother of Hope House One, 1103 West 8 t h Street, Wilmington,
Del. 19806. The proceeds benefit alcoholic and homeless women with children
who have chosen to get sober and at the same time have their children with
