There is one large stone with inscriptions for all the graves in this cemetery.

History: Thomas Nelson was buried here, but according to the late Judge Leon M. Bazile the remains of Thomas Nelson were moved to the family cemetery at Yorktown on a moonlight night. Phillip Nelson, son of Thomas Nelson is buried at Mont Air.

Mount Brilliant Cemetery
History: John Henry, father of Patrick Henry and two of his daughters are buried in this cemetery. Robert Carter Nicholas is also buried in this cemetery. It is said by neighborhood tradition that the British soldiers killed at Allen's Creek are also buried in this cemetery. The Chancellor Wythe Chapter NSDAR of Richmond dedicated a historical marker at the gravesite of John Henry on April 27, 1985.

History: This stone is now located at Immanuel Church, and is believed by experts that this stone came from Wales, due to its date, thickness, and elaborate engraving. Many year ago the stone was moved to the Clifton Cemetery of the Haddon Alexander family and then forgotten about. Recently, the stone was found and was given to Immanuel Church, by Mrs. Miriam Alexander and her family.

Ther are no stones for the graves of John and Sarah Syme, the following information is from their obituaries.
Departed this life at Rocky Mills in Hanover County, the 25th of November 1805, Col. John Syme, aged 77 years 11 months. He was an officer in the French & Indian war in 1755 and in the American Revolution. Sarah Syme died at Rocky Mills 20 November 1810.
