Cause of death unknown (can’t read)  he died with a lingering disease which lasted him (can’t read). Died Feb 15th, 1887. She’s 76 yo b. Botetourt County. Resided in VA all of her life, 58 yrs in Floyd County. Married in Floyd County Nov 27 184_ by Owen Summer. Has not remarried. Residing with her daughter. (can’t read answer to amt of property she has) She receives no assistance or other income. (There’s more but my eyes hurt!)

Nell was born on 10 June 1907 in Bluefield, WV to Walter Herbert Dickerson and Agnes (Kersey) Dickerson. The family moved to the Burks Fork area of Floyd County, VA in 1911.

She began her teaching career in 1927 in the Floyd County School System and earned her BS degree while working as a teacher. She taught school for 43 years, approximately 30 of those years in Carroll County at Hillsville High School.

She married Joseph Guy Jackson of Laurel Fork, VA in June 1943.

WILLIS - Lillian Mary Dehart Dickerson departed this life Friday, November 1, 2002 at her home in Willis.

She was born in Floyd on September 20, 1912, one of ten children born to Abraham and Mary Weddle Dehart. She attended Radford College and taught school at Union, Willis, Floyd, Mount Ruffner, and in Knoxville, Tennessee. In 1935 she married Walter Howard Dickerson, Jr. Besides living on the Dickerson family farm in Willis, they also lived in Knoxville, Tennessee, and Morgantown, West Virginia. Howard, Jr. passed away in 1973. 

She is survived by two sons and daughter-in-law, Howard III and Hilda Dickerson, Marion Dickerson, all of Willis; one daughter and son-in-law, Mary and Jack Fazenbaker, Frisco, Texas; grandchildren, Walt Dickerson, Ann Burkhart, Jenni Webb and Ben Webb; great grandchildren, Jared and Evan Richardson; a loving sister, India Dehart, Orlando, Florida; numerous nieces and nephews also survive. 

A graveside service was held on Tuesday, November 5 at 11:00 a.m. at the Greasy Creek Cemetery in Willis.

WILLIS - Lillian Mary Dehart Dickerson departed this life Friday, November 1, 2002 at her home in Willis.

She was born in Floyd on September 20, 1912one of ten children born to Abraham and Mary Weddle Dehart . She is survived by two sons and daughter-in-law, Howard III and Hilda Dickerson, Marion Dickerson, all of Willis; one daughter and son-in-law, Mary and Jack Fazenbaker, Frisco, Texas; grandchildren, Walt Dickerson, Ann Burkhart, Jenni Webb and Ben Webb; great grandchildren, Jared and Evan Richardson; a loving sister, India Dehart, Orlando, Florida; numerous nieces and nephews also survive. 

A graveside service was held on Tuesday, November 5 at 11:00 a.m. at the Greasy Creek Cemetery in Willis.

Edna Dickerson Fleenor, 86, Gray, entered into rest, Sunday, October 23, 2011 at the Johnson City Medical Center.

Mrs. Fleenor was a native and lifelong resident of Washington County.

She was a daughter of the late Fred and Sue Mills Dickerson and was also preceded in death by her husband, James C. Fleenor and one sister, Mary Bowman.

Mrs. Fleenor was a homemaker who loved country and gospel music; her favorite gospel group was Men of Praise. She enjoyed traveling, meeting friends on Friday for lunch, and solving crossword puzzles.

She was a member and tireless worker at Gray United Methodist Church, involving herself in many church charities, singing in the choir, building committee, the apple butter gang and the Lively Ladies. Mrs. Fleenor was also a member of the Washington County Home Demonstration Club.

Mrs. Fleenor leaves three sons, Jimmie D. Fleenor and wife, Betty, Gray, Fred Randall Fleenor and wife, Debra, Gray, Dennis Fleenor and wife, Robin, Johnson City; five grandchildren, Erin Gray, Douglas Fleenor, Carrie Fleenor, Ethan Fleenor and Elijah Fleenor; three step-grandchildren, Jimmy McMillan, Craig McMillan and Michael Brooks; five great grandchildren, Johnathan Fleenor, Andrea Polhemus, Casey McMillan, Murphy McMillan and Ivy Mae McMillan and several special friends.

The family will greet guests from 5:00 PM Tuesday, October 25, 2011 until a Celebration of Life Service at 8:00 PM at Gray United Methodist Church. Pastors, Lloyd J. Jones, Jodie Ifhe and William Dingus will officiate. Graveside services will be held at 11:00 AM Wednesday at Fairview Cemetery, Jonesborough, TN. Everyone will assemble at the cemetery at 10:50 AM. Active and honorary pallbearers will be selected from family and friends. In lieu of flowers, for those who wish, the family requests memorial contributions be made to the Gray United Methodist Church, Building Fund, 2108 Oak Street, Johnson City, TN 37615.
