I am searching for information on either an Andrew Grubb married to Martha Tharp or a Daniel Grubb. They were listed as living in Champaign Co., OH by 1813. They came to Champaign Co., OH from Goochland Co., VA. The Grubb family, also spelled Grubs was evidently a prosperous family in VA. I an trying to find out for certain as to the relationship between the Daniel and Andrew Grubb who are both listed in Champaign Co. There has to be some kind of connection, as I have copies of land transactions where Andrew is Daniels acting attorney and also his acting power of attorney. We have a good solid list of Andrews siblings and there is no Daniel listed. We know from documents from Goochland Co., VA that Andrew's father was Daniel and at first, I just assumed that the two were the same, the only porblem with this theory is that Daniel died in Goochland Co., VA in 1800, we have a copy of his will and it's executed date. I am positive that this Daniel is an elder to Andrew, either that or a very sick man. I am certain that he isn't an uncle, if so there would have been two Living Daniels as brothers. Does anyone have anything on this Grubb family?

I find that the CAVENAUGH family is quite prevalent in the 1860 census. We find a JULIA CAVENAUGH residing in Champaign county, Urbana Twp. and believe she may be our Julia. I am wondering if anyone knows of Bryan and Mary CAVENAUGH/Kavenaugh and their daughters: Catherine, Julia and Mary. They had resided in Union county and Madison county for awhile and then moved to Putnam county. Catherine married James Welch of Madison county; Mary married Patrick Noon of Union county; Julia married Richard Caton of Madison/Union county. Bryan purchased farms for each of his daughters and sons-in-law in Putnam county. The Caton's eventually moved to Defiance County while the Welch's and Noon's remained in Putnam county. Mr. Cavanaugh was born in Kilkenny, Ireland in the early 1800's and arrived in the states in the 1850's. We would be ever so grateful if someone could provide information on other relatives of his, if any, in Champaign county.
