GABOURY, HEBERT, LAFRENIERE posted by Donald Lafreniere on Tuesday, September 21, 1999

I am doing a research on the Baron "dit" LAFRENIERE family. Now most of our family came from Quebec Canada, and settled in Michigan, but my grandmother was born in Green Bay Wisconsin. First off, if anyone is interested in any family related to the Lafreniere's we have a web page at: http://www.geocities.com/heartland/hills/9204 I am trying to research my grandmothers side of the family right now, and keep coming up with a dead end. Her name is Marcella GABOURY, she was born in Green Bay Wisconsin on March 3, 1907. Her father was a HEBERT, and I believe she was born as "Marcella Hebert" but her father left her and her mother when she was very young, and she was raised by her mother Edwilda Gaboury and her Uncles who were Gaboury's so she changed her name to Gaboury. Now back than they may not have legally changed it so I am not sure what she was listed at. I am trying to trace the Gaboury's back to Canada, but can find nothing on Marcella or Edwilda. And also find out who her father was, and what ever happened to him. Any idea's where to start looking? We try to keep our genealogy page updated, and the information is there to help other genealogist tracing the same families. We have a lot of information in there and hope we can help out other as we were helped out ourselves. Any information you could give in helping me trace my grandmothers history would be greatly appreciated. I know there is a Marie- Anne Gaboury that had a shrine dedicated to her in Canada, was trying to see if this would be a relative also.
