MCCONNELL, MCCAUSLAND Looking for the descendants of Edward and Nancy Anna (MCCAUSLAND) MCCONNELL. Edward was born in Ireland in 1835 and came to America in 1850. He spent many years in the Steubenville area and was a vegatable farmer. He and Nancy had 7 children: James, Margaret, Sara, Francis, David, Anna and Edward. Edward died in 1896 and Nancy in 1911. Anna was the daughter of James MCCAUSLAND and Mary Hunter of Carroll County.

Who were Tunis and Peter CORNELL? They were in Jefferson Co., Ohio in 1799 when they signed a petition to Congress. Tunis' will is recorded in Jefferson Co. in 1814 and Peter's estate was probated in 1817. Are these the same Tunis and Peter CORNELL who were taxpayers in Hunterdon Co., NJ in 1790 and earlier? Are they related to the William and Peter CORNELL in the 1790 census of Fayette Co., PA? Are they related to the Cornell's of Coshocton Co., Ohio (1820s and following)? My hunch is that Tunis and Peter are brothers. Tunis is the father of William and Peter of Fayette Co., PA and Peter of Fayette is the forebear of the Coshocton Cornells.

I am a descendent of John BECKETT (~1770 u 1850) of Virginia, who moved with his family to Ohio from Berkeley Co., Virginia in about 1811. They first settled in Warren Township, Jefferson County, but moved to Belmont County before 1820 and lived in Goshen Township until about 1832, when they moved to Green Township, Monroe County. His children lived in Monroe, Noble and Guernsey Counties. There were several other BECKETT families who came into Jefferson County in the early 1800AEs. One was William BECKETT (~1770 - 1814) who came in 1802 and lived in Warren Township, Jefferson Co. His children lived in Jefferson, Morgan and Washington Counties. Another was Humphrey BECKETT (1782 -1855) who arrived in Ohio in about 1812 and located in Belmont Co. His presumed children lived mainly in Belmont County. I am trying to determine whether these Beckett's were related and where they came from. I am interested in trading information with any one researching them or allied families.

We are now looking for relatives or information regarding this family. We think that Mary and Joseph were directly from Italy. I am a descendant of Lewis Taylor KELLY, b. Oct. 1, 1806 in Jefferson County, Ohio. He married Catherine KOFFEL of Wayne Twp., Columbiana Co., Ohio, b. Oct. 26, 1813. They married somewhere in Ohio, date unknown, and moved to a farm near Warsaw, IN where he worked in the copper trade making casks. They moved to a farm near Laketon, IN and had seven children: Sarah Ann (Kelly) Kline; George Washington Kelly; Adam George Kelly; Oliver Franklin Kelly; Millard Filmore Kelly; Margaret Jane (Kelly) Sickafus; and Lewis "Taylor" Kelly. Lewis died on April 22, 1862 in Wabash County, Indiana. I am looking for information on Lewis Taylor Kelly's immediate family (brothers, sisters, and parents). Any information will be appreciated.

I am a direct descendant of Adam POE b. 1745 or 1747 in Frederick Co, MD and died on either Sept. 23, 1838 or 1840 in Stark Co., OH. He married Betsey MATTHEWS, b. in Feb. 1756 in Down, North Ireland (Ulster). She came to America in 1768 and died in Stark Co., Ohio. Adam and Betsey were the parents of Sarah POE, b. July 15, 1791 in Washington Co., PA and died in Congress, Congress Twp, Wayne Co., Ohio. Sarah married Adam KOFFEL, b. April 15, 1788 in Rockhill Twp, Bucks Co, PA and died in Congress, Congress Twp., Wayne Co. Ohio on March 14, 1868. Sarah and Adam KOFFEL were the parents of Catherine Koffel, b. Oct. 26, 1813 in Columbiana Co., Ohio and married Lewis T. KELLY (probably somewhere in Ohio, date unknown), b. Oct. 1, 1806 in Jefferson Co., Ohio. Elizabeth (Campbell) PERRY then married William GILL 05 January 1843. William CAMPBELL had the following childen: Samuel, Philena and Thomas GILL. William and Elizabeth had the following children: Alexander, William, Jesse Charles GILL, all born Warren Township, Jefferson Co., They moved to Belmont Co. and had John and Cordelia (my line) GILL. I am looking for the college in Richmond, Salem, Township, Jefferson, Co. that my great grandfather, Williams LEWIS might have attended in the mid to late 1850's. He was born in Tuscarawas County, Ohio on 13 Apr 1839, and according to a personal history in his own handwriting he went to college in Richmond, Jefferson County, Ohio at the age of 17 or 18. I would like to contact that college to see if they have in their archives any record of him. His parents were very orthodox Methodists, so this may have been a Methodist College.
